When I met him it was just a normal day.

It was 12 A.M and I woke up in my dorm room to a horrible headache. My roommate was snoring away. I got headaches often, but usually not in the middle of the night. I was envious of my roommate because I was missing sleep that I really needed for my long exam tomorrow.

I went through my drawers to find some aspirin, but couldn't find anything. I also couldn't ask anyone else for some because we all had exams tomorrow and everybody would hate me for waking them up. I contemplated if a trip to the store was worth it. A horrible pang in my head that made me dizzy helped me decide it was.

Once I arrived at Target I looked around and felt kind of scared because it was extremley dark since it was a new moon and also some of the lamplights were flickering. I rushed into the store to escape the cold November weather and inside, I didn't see a single person in the store which was strange because there were cars parked outside... but I decided not to think about it because my headache was getting worse.

I was actually quite thankful that nobody was in Target since I looked horrible with my messy bun hair and fuzzy slippers. My eyes were also half closed so I looked high.

I quickly got the aspirin and went to the only checkout lane open. I started walking there and suddenly stopped because behind the counter, I spotted the most attractive guy ever. With dirty blonde hair, and amazing jawline, he was heavenly.

I realized I was staring and he was staring at me.. waiting for me to come to the lane and giving me a questioning look. He obviously knew I was checking him out, so I pretend like I had " zoned out" and suddenly "came back to reality", but I could tell by the small smile on his face that he didn't buy it.

He quickly checked out the aspirin as I read his name.. Alex. Well thank you Alex from Target for making my night a hundred times better. As I stared at him I forgot to tell him not to bag the aspirin, but he didn't ask so I decided not to worry about it.

He told me to have a good night and I told him " you too", but I was thinking " "I definitely will, thanks to you".

I was about to head outside and as I was bracing myself for the cold when Alex shouted, "Stop!"

I was confused and then I thought maybe he wanted my number. I looked back at him, but the look on his face was one of pure terror.

"Don't go outside, don't move or the doors will open," he commanded.

I was about to ask why when I looked outside and stifled a scream. Terror and panic consumed me, and I almost fainted.

There they were, hundreds of them. Zombies.
