It's currently 2:37 pm and you spent the whole day at the library studying for your exams. You're currently waiting for Shawn to come pick you up but he's late as usual.

Y/n: ur taking forever
Shawn❤️: I can't text and drive

Followed by that message you get a FaceTime call from Shawn.

Y/n: yes
Shawn: I'm in the car driving, see
Y/n I see but you're still late
Shawn: I was getting you something
Y/n what did you get me?
Shawn: I got COFFEE
Y/n *laughs* fine but hurry up I wanna leave
Shawn: okay okay I'll be there
Y/n: okay bye love you
Shawn: did you say love you instead of I love yo-

You hang up the call before he could finish. Then, you pass the stacks of books and towards the entrance of the library. You see Shawn's car pull up to the front.

You walk out the library with your backpack and books in hand. You get into the car and grab your coffee. While doing so Shawn has a very disappointed look on his face.

Y/n: what?
Shawn: *sighs* oh nothing
Y/n: why are you sighing...
Shawn: *sighs again* oh no reason
Y/n: okay...let's go

He starts driving and the ride is silent until...

Shawn: you know some people appreciate the things their boyfriends do for them
Y/n: what are you talking about?
Shawn: oh nothing just a random thought

The car ride is silent until he speaks again.

Shawn: So I guess you don't say I love you anymore...
Y/n: what?
Shawn: oh you know when you hung up on me before you could fix your statement
Y/n: what statement?

Is he talking about me saying love you?

Y/n: oh my bad. I love you

Shawn starts smiling.

Shawn: good.
Y/n: why was that necessary, you know what I meant
Shawn: oh my lovely y/n you do know that love you and I love you are two completely different things
Y/n: nope I never knew that
Shawn: well it is and you didn't say I love you and that hurt
Y/n: well you never said it back
Shawn: you're right. I love you Y/n
Y/n: love you too

You start laughing and Shawn looks disappointed again but you kiss his cheek and he starts smiling.
