Alice smiled as she stood up and waited against the bathroom door, Disco Bear wasn't home at the time and for that she was grateful. One minute passed, then two, then three, or so she thought. It felt like forever but It was actually about half a minute, her breathing grew deeper and more afraid of her future, her heart pounded hard against her chest. She peeked at it and saw the double lines on the small piece of plastic. Tears drew quickly to her eyes and moisend the fur on her cheeks: Alice was pregnet as she had always wanted to be. She openly sobbed on the floor in a puddle of pure joy, she let herself cry like this for almost an hour before coming back to her senses and standing up. She looked in the silver reflection and smiled with glee, she couldn't wait for her sweet Bear to get home.
The door opened late that night as she waited in the living room, she could hear Disco call out that he was home and she called back, "I'm in here!"
He followed her voice after taking off his boots and work coat after closing the door, he walked into the living room to see his wife had been crying. Immediently his senses kicked in but they were all confused, he rushed to the couch and sat by her, suddenly grabbing her in a warm hug to which she accepted. She cried into his shoulder as he tried to soothe her but it seemed to no avail, he could hear her mumble some words through mixed sobbing.
"Please don't be mad, " was one of the sentance's he could make out, "I wanted this but I didn't know if you did!"
He paused, "Sweetie, what happened?"
She took a deep breath and through shakey tears she told him, "Disco Bear, I'm... Well, I'm pregent..." He sat in shock, staring at his lovely wife before she pleaded with him, "please don't be mad!"
He hushed her frightened words, "Alice, are you happy with this situation?"
Alice nodded, "yes but I wasn't-"
He cut her off again, with a tone that was loving and gentle yet very comanding of attention, "Then I am happy with it."
Alice was surprised as he smiled at her, she could see the water grow in his own eyes, "you're not mad."
Disco Bear bit his bottom lip and looked down before hugging his wife tightly, he paused before standing up with her in his arms. He held her in a standing position before lifting her and twirling her in a circle, "I'm gonna be a father!!" He cried out with glee. Both of the bears' eyes were dripping with salty tears of bliss, they both felt more pride in that moment then they ever have about anything in their whole lives.
The loving moment was shared for a few hours of cuddling and being so extremly happy for each other that they had forgotten to go to bed in their room, they slept on the couch by pure accident.
A week after, Alice had woken up with horrible morning sickness and an inspiration that she could not contain. Disco Bear woke up to hear his wife puking in their shared bathroom and he rushed in to help her. He held her hair back for her and made sure she was okay before going downstairs to get a glass of water for her. She finished her buisness in the restroom and stood up, flushing the toilet and washing her face in the sink water, letting the cool liquid run down her fur. When Disco Bear had come back up with the glass of water, he couldn't find Alice in the room. He left and called out for her but he quickly found her in their spare room, she was looking around it longingly. She noticed he had walked in and turned around, they both had the same idea and they shared a smile before getting ready for the day.
Each day was like the last, wake up with morning sickness, eat breakfast, then go into the spare room to redesign and paint everything. They had removed the queen sized bed and painted the walls a vibrant green that had little tree and bird designs fluttering about the fresh walls. They put in a crib, the closet in the room was filled with bags upon bags of diapers, under the crib were three, large, dressers that would hold baby clothes. They already had a few fun outfits laying in them but since they didn't know the babies gender they got mostly normal baby clothes and nothing too themed. A baby carraige craddled itself gently in a corner of the room, It had been all poked and primmed until it looked like a little frog when you closed the pull over. They smiled at the room and at each other as Alice leaned her body weight into Disco, he closed his eyes and held her close to himself, taking it all in.
About six months passed and Alice was about to pop like a balloon, neither of them knew the gender of the child but neither one cared. Alice was cleaning the kitchen when she gasped at a sensation she had never felt before and her body began to convulse. She screamed out for Disco Bear and he came running downstairs, he noticed the fresh puddle of water on the floor and began helping her to the downstairs bathroom. He sat her down in the tub, gently lowering her down as she cried out in pain. He held her hand for ten minutes as she went through the process, he made sure that she knew he wasn't alone and before either of them knew it, she was holding a lovely baby girl with bright red hair, just like her parents and similar fur tone as each of them. The raccoon part of her stuck out with the tail that was as short as a bear's but as fluffy as a raccoons. They both smiled at the newborn and laughed. After nine onths they finally had their perfect little girl.
