Adelaide sat down in a seat next to Penelope waiting in the Charms classroom. Professor Flitwick arrived and said a quick introduction. After his introduction, Professor Flitwick started the lesson. "One of a wizard's most rudimentary skills is levitation, the ability to make objects fly. Do you all have you feathers?" he asks. "Pronunciation and wand movement is key to success, especially with spells such as this. Begin," and with that, everyone started.

"Wingardium Leviosa," Adelaide says, but the feather doesn't move. She sighed and looked around to see how the others were doing.

She spots Hermione scolding Ron. "Wingardium Leviosar," Ron says as he whacked the feather with his wand numerous times. "Stop, stop stop! You're going to take someone's eye out," Hermione said extending her hand to stop Ron from moving his wand, "Besides it's leviosa, not leviosar." Ron looks at her, "You do it then if you're so clever. Go on," he tells her. "Wingardium Leviosa!" Hermione says confidently and her feather then started to lift up.

"Well done! See here everyone, Ms. Granger's done it!" Professor Flitwick said excitedly. Adelaide looks at Malfoy and sees that he also has done it right after. Adelaide turns her attention back to her feathers and tries again, "Wingardium Leviosa!" It didn't work once again. Adelaide started to get frustrated. "Why is it not working?" she said frustrated. "You might be doing the hand movements wrong," Penelope said.

"Wingardium Leviosa," Adelaide saids once again with more precise hand movements. Her feather starts to lift up, "Yes!" she exclaims, "Look Penelope! I did it!" Adelaide beams with joy. Penelope looks at her and giggles, "You did it!"

Adelaide jumped at the sudden explosion that was heard across the room. A boy's feather exploded and he had asked all over his face with his hair sticking up. "I think we may need another feather over here Professor," Harry said.

Charms soon ended, so Penelope and Adelaide headed to dinner. "I heard Potter might get a spot on the Quidditch team," Adelaide overheard Parkinson tell Malfoy. Adelaide was relieved to hear the Harry didn't get into much trouble. Malfoy didn't say anything, but frowned.

"Today was a great day, don't you think?" Penelope asks Adelaide, taking her attention away from the conversation Parkinson and Malfoy were having. "Yeah," Adelaide simply responds. "Hm, you don't talk much do you?" Penelope said observing her. Adelaide looks at her, "I guess not," she shrugs.

"Hey Penelope, tell me about yourself," Adelaide wanted to get to know her friend. "Well," Penelope started, "I come from a pureblood family, and I actually have an older brother who is a fifth year." Adelaide asks, "Wouldn't it be bad if you're parents find out you're talking to a muggleborn?" Penelope looks at her and smiles, "Nah, our family don't really care about blood status." Adelaide nods.

"What about you? Tell me about yourself Adelaide," Penelope asks. "Well, I'm the oldest in my family. I have three younger siblings," Adelaide said. "I'm new to this world," she adds. "It's alright, I'll guide you through this world," Penelope said smiling.

Adelaide felt someone staring at her, so she looks up to find out who was staring at her. She looks around, but couldn't find where the source was coming from. She frowns to herself. "What's wrong?" Penelope asks. "Nothing, I just feel like someone's staring at me," Adelaide responds. Penelope looks around, "Malfoy?" she said. "What?" Adelaide questioned confused and turn her focus to Malfoy. They made eye contact for a second, before he turned away.

"Oh well, it's time to go back to our dormitory," Penelope said getting up.

Adelaide was exhausted, so once they got to their rooms, she collapsed on her bed. "I'm worn out," she said exhausted. "I know when I get older I'm going to marry my Dracypoo," Parkinson said coming in the room followed by Greengrass. "Dracypoo who?" Adelaide questioned. "Draco you idiotic Mudblood," Parkinson sneered. "Oh."

Adelaide zoned out of the converstion soon after and soon fell asleep.

The next morning, Adelaide got up before her roomates did. She silently got ready and left the room. On her way to the Great Hall, she spots Harry, Ron and Hermione. "Hey Adelaide!" Harry saids, waving, once he spots her. She walks up to them, "Hey," she saids with a smile. Ron just looks at her intently.

"How's your morning going?" Harry asks. "Great," she responds. "I heard you got in the Quidditch team Harry," Adelaide saids. "Yes, yes I did," Harry saids proudly. "Congrats," Adelaide congratulates Harry. "Thanks," he saids.

"Adelaide!" Adelaide turns around and sees Penelope running to her direction, "Where were you?" she asks while panting. "You were still asleep and I didn't want to wake you up," Adelaide saids. Penelope turns and looks at the other three who were there. "Oh, Penelope, this is Harry Potter,  Ron Weasley, and Hermione Granger," Adelaide saids introducing them, "And this is Penelope Clearwater," she tells the three. They all just nod at each other. Adelaide could feel some tension between the three and Penelope.

"Well, me and Adelaide have to go," Penelope saids and drags Adelaide away from the group. "You should've woken me up," Penelope pouts at Adelaide. "I'm sorry, maybe next time," Adelaide saids.

"Anyways, what's our first class for today?" Penelope asks. "I think it's Defense Against the Dark Arts," Adelaide saids. "Then let's go," Penelope saids. "By the way Penelope, what exactly is Quidditch?" Penelope looks at her, "You don't know what Quidditch is?" Adelaide shakes her head, "I'm new to this stuff, remember?" "Oh right, sorry," Penelope saids.

"Well, Quidditch is our sport. There are four balls used in the game. Two are bludgers, one is a quaffle, and the other is the golden snitch. Each team consists of seven players. Two beaters, three chasers, a keeper, and a seeker," Penelope saids and continues, "The beaters have to use their bats to keep the bludgers away from their teammates, while the chasers pass the quaffle between themselves and try to get it in the three hoops that are up there."

Adelaide intnetly listens to what Penelope saids. "The keeper has to try and stop the chasers from scoring. Finally, the seeks has to cath the snitch, which is impossible to alsmot see. Once the snitch is caught, the game is fnished." Adelaide nods, "So if the seeker catches the snitch, does that team win?" she asks. "Not exactly, it isn't always the team who has caught the snitch wins, it's the team with the most points, but it usually is," Penelope saids.

Adelaide and Penelope took their seats once they got to the classroom. Professor Quirrel soon started his lesson after everyone got settled.
