Grade 1
Forsythe Pendleton Jones held tightly onto his mother's hand as they walked to the school. He'd been dreading this day, it was the first day of school, School has always been hard on him. The poor boy had been bullied since preschool and was a huge outsider.
"Mommmm, please don't make me go" he begged holding even tighter onto her hand. She ignored him and just kept walking. When they got to the school Forsythe refused to go in, the small dark haired boy crossed his arms and shook his head.
"Forsythe! I need to get home to Forsythia you're going to school." His mom said in a stern voice you could tell she was getting annoyed. Forsythia was Forsythe's sister, the favourite child. She got everything she wanted. Right now she was at home with their dad, FP, probably watching cartoons and eating pancakes with chocolate sauce and blueberries, something Forsythe was never able to have.
"But mom!" He pleaded once more before she just ended up picking him up and carrying him to class.
------------
As soon as Forsythe's mom had left the bullying began. He accidently bumped into another kid, Reggie Mantle a boy Forsythe couldn't stand, he was the worst grade one Forsythe had ever come across.
"Watch where you're going, Jughead!" Reggie shouted at him. Jughead was a name the other kids had given poor Forsythe although he didn't mind it much it had a nice ring to it. Reggie gave Jughead a shove causing him to tumble to the ground and scrape his knees. As a first grader that hurt him a lot and he tried his best not to shed tears. Another boy had noticed Jughead on the ground and came to help him, this boy was Archie Andrews.
"Are you okay?" Archie asked him as he helped him up. Jughead wiped away his tears and nodded while he adjusted his new crown hat, something his father had given him as a back to school present.
"Hey Archie! What are you doing with that loser? Get over here!" Reggie called out.
"I'll see you later?" Archie asked. Jughead nodded in return while Archie ran off to hangout with his friends. Something about that interaction left Jughead with a warm, happy feeling something hes never really experienced before.
