It's been a few hours of continuous matches. For the poor hunter, a few hours won't do anything. These past months, he seems to lost his touch and skills as a hunter. He lost every single match he participated. It's sickening and disappointing. Especially with how the other hunters are starting to look down at him now.
Sitting on a chair outside the balcony of his room, he just stare into the distance, studying and memorizing all the maps surrounding the manor. If he wants to win, he needs to memorize the maps right? If that is it, he will do it. He even take pictures with his camera every now and then to study them more up close. He is so caught up in papers and pens on the table that he couldn't hear the continuous knocking on his door.

"Joseph?"

The hunter, Joseph, jump up in terror as he hears Robbie's cute voice from the other side of his door. Joseph chuckles to himself.

"Not so much of a jumpscare king am I now?" He whisper to himself as he quickly walk to the door. Unlocking and opening the door wide for the small hunter, instead of letting him come in, Joseph lean down and pick him up. Propping the boy on his hips.

"Hey cutie, what brings you here?" Joseph look at the boy, he's wearing his little milkboi skin, how cute.

"Big sister Mary said you aren't feeling well so I came to give you a loli!" Robbie raise his right hand up, showing the little rainbow lollipop wrapped up in plastic.

Joseph smile as his heart melts uncontrollably. "Aww, thank you little guy. Look, it's like a miniature version of your axe!" Joseph swings the candy around, making sounds with his mouth as he unconsciously entertain the small boy.

Both of the hunters are having quiet the fun, until a knock at the door breaks it.

"Sorry to interrupt your little giggly play time but Joseph, your match is up next." Michiko lean against the door as she speak, little sparks of adornment fills her eyes.

"Oh, thank you for reminding me Michi, I completly forgot." Joseph rose from his seat, taking his sword and patting the small boy on the head before he leaves the room.

He enters the waiting room, nervously checking all his cameras to make sure they work. 3 minutes flew by so fast as he so suddenly open his eyes to find himself already in the church.

'Oh crap, I didn't even check the survivors team... I'm so done...' He quickly scramble around to search for a camera. Joseph swear he memorized everything on this map earlier! Why is his mind blank now?!

After successfully taking a picture, he enter the photo world to search for some easy downs but again today, he can't find no one. About to give up, he prepared to return to the real world until something caught his eyes.

"A survivor! Yes!" Joseph quickly run to the unmoving body of the survivor, Lucky.

Just a little bit more, he could've gotten the hit... If only someone didn't just lasso the fake...

"We got a cowboy?!" Joseph cry out in frustration. How amazing... He is being cipher rushed and he can't find no one even in the photo world...

Joseph really feels like giving up. Until he hears the last cipher pop and the loud sirens boom throughout the map. His eyes glow red. Joseph takes a deep breath.

"This is now a gamble... Down 2 survivors or I'm gonna stab myself..."

Then he gets the notification of the survivors already escaping safe and sound, except only one. Lucky guy.

"Okay Joseph, down this one survivor or I'll slit your throat..."

He walk through the map, locating the dungeon before he quickly teleport to the church gate, fortunately for him, the survivor, Lucky, is there. Just standing. Or more like... waiting?

"Hi hunter."

Joseph frown... 'Okay this is a first...' Quickly, Joseph search Lucky with his eyes, just in case the he got a flare gun... He had enough of that.

"Just... just escape..." Joseph word out, lifeless is the tone of his voice.

"I'm giving you a chance right now." Lucky responded. Rather fearless. Brave.

Sighing, Joseph just give up. Downing one survivor still would mean a lot, but what difference would it make? He lost anyways. He don't even do it on his own. Lucky is giving himself up.

Joseph lets out a broken sigh again. "How are you so lucky?" He question the survivor as he sit down on the ground against a wall.

"Huh? What kind of question is that?" Lucky ask back, arms crossing against his chest as he lean against the exit gate.

"I looked at your record once... you rarely ever lose a match. How are you so lucky? Even when I was about to hit your fake, you lasso him in time... and now, why are you still here? You could have easily escape..."

"I just wanted to help?"

"What makes you think I needed help?"

"It's just... everyone is bragging about being able to escape from you spotless... I kinda felt bad? Y'k..."

Joseph sigh again, a little bit mad. "Even if I down you now, it won't make me a better hunter, you are just standing here making no effort to escape and besides, it would still be a lost for me."

Joseph look down at his sword, looking into the dark eyes of his own reflection. Lifeless. He sigh again for the millionth time that day before noticing Lucky going to sit next to him on the ground.

"You know... I'm not always lucky."

Joseph look to his side, giving attention to the male.

"I used to mess up every match I'm in... Everyone hated me... They would reject me everytime I tried to play a match with them. They said I bring bad luck..."

Lucky look to his side, locking eyes with the hunter for a solid 5 seconds before he timidly move his face away.

Joseph do the same when he realises. Maybe a faint pink is there on his cheeks.

"Why do you tell me that?"

"So you would never give up."
