Liliana's pov:

I've been working for my boss, Harold, for around 5 years now. He owns a huge company revolving around all types of cars. It gets pretty busy considering how many people try to persuade him to lower prices, I knew that today was going to be one of those days too.

I was on my way to work and I took this time to think for myself. I'm a pretty upfront, honest, caring person. I mean, don't get me wrong, if you cross my wires wrong I can be a completely and total bitch. It's not something I mean to do, it just kind of happens. Sometimes I can worry a lot though. I mean, I've been worrying a lot recently. Harold Pearson may have all of the money in the world, but even all of the money in the world can't make health problems go away.

He's been fighting cancer for a minute now. Although I worked as his assistant, he became like a father to me. I didn't have that, but anyways, he's been thinking about having someone else take over his company recently. He assured me I'd still have my job, but I don't think I was ready for him to retire yet. My eyes began to water, but I quickly wiped my tears away as I pulled into the parking garage.

I entered the building and I was immediately greeted with a smile by the receptionist, Terri. Terri and I have became close since I started working here. This place was like my family.

I walked into Harold's office and I knew what was happening as soon as I walked in. His head was tilted down at papers scattered across his desk, and there were other people in the room waiting for him to sign, what I assumed, their contracts. Harold looked up from the papers and gave a sad smile. "Liliana, there you are. I didn't tell you ahead of time, but here, it's time you met your new boss." My heart dropped at the thought of Harold leaving. He'd taken me in as his own daughter and I didn't want him to go.
