I do not own the Avengers, Thor or the characters, but I do own the characters I make up out of my own imagination, such as Rayne and Ekaterina.
Chapter 1: Breaking Out
"Get off of me!" I snarled at the guard who had thrown me into the cell. He scoffed at me. "What are you going to do now, Loki? You're trapped in a cage, and I'm out here, free."
I snarled under my breath. Lots had changed since my capture. The guard, no longer amused, left, all the while laughing. Clenching my fists, I tried hard not to show any emotion- to not let my demeanor crack, to keep the mask up.
I didn't know how long I sat there in the dark, just lost in my thoughts, but I must've fallen asleep at one point, because a melodic laughing woke me up. My eyes shot open, not that it did me any good, the air was black as tar, with something in it so I couldn't see through it. A faint light shone at the end of the hallway, and I cautiously approached it as close as my chains would allow me.
"Hello?" I called. "Who's there?"
The laughing grew louder. As the light got closer, I peered forward out of the cell and scrambled back. A girl stood there, laughing softly.
She stood proudly, her straight blond hair falling down to her mid-back, and her gleaming eyes an amber-golden color. She couldn't be older than fifteen, and her tanned skin gave off a faint glow.
She stepped through the bars easily, as if they weren't there. "Come, Loki," she whispered, flashing me a small grin. She quickly and easily undid all of the chains around me, and I stood shakily. "Come," she whispered again. The girl turned abruptly and took off at a steady jog down the hallway, not checking to see if I'd follow. Curious, I followed quickly. She reached a dead end, and I smirked. "Lost?" I questioned.
"Not exactly," she replied. Pressing her palm to the wall, a faint glow grew on the wall. She turned to me, "You coming?"
Grabbing my wrist, the girl jumped into the wall, taking me with her. We tumbled through and hit hard ground. I fell on my back and laid there for a moment, feeling really sick. She coughed and pressed her arm to her ribcage.
After a moment, the feeling faded, and the girl leapt to her feet, and I noticed that she wore human clothes: a navy blue t-shirt with a worn white logo, dark jeans and sneakers. I stood as well, looking around. It was night, where ever we were, and wind blew by my face softly. Grass rustled, and we were on a nestled cliff-top in the middle of plains. The girl stared at me, and I reached for the scepter that had quickly become familiar to me, but it wasn't there. I settled for intimidation. "Who are you?"

"Who are you?" Loki asked me, and I smirked in response. "Don't you recognise me?"
He scowled darkly at me. "I have powers, I can-"
I laughed. "Oh, yeah? Use those powers, little boy, oh wait- that's right, you can't; if you could, you would've used them already."
He turned away, muttering under his breath. "So, who are you?"
I smirked. "Rayne Forewick."
"Why did you get me out?" he asked quietly.
"All in good time," I replied casually, turning around to face the clifftop.
"What's going on?" Loki demanded. "I have a right to know that. Why did you spring me?"
