Unknown.
My love for you goes unseen.
Unshown.
The pins and needles so very keen.
Disown.
The airy title that you keep.
Ingrown.
This thorn in my side makes me weep.Unknown.

Ring. Click. Beep.
Missed Call.I've been getting calls from an unknown number all day. It's a local number, but its also my personal cell that's ringing. It's either a very persistent telemarketer, or someone is very confused. Either way, I'm not answering.
I block the number and continue showing the technicians how to even read the schematics. My head aches already.*perspective change*
The bastard hangs up again and I grit my teeth. I grip the phone tightly, half hoping it'll break. I try calling again, only to be told that the caller is no longer available.
"He blocked me?! No way!" I yell, then glance down at Joey to make sure I didn't wake him up. He's still sleeping, probably exhausted from running all the way here. I've already taken his shoes off, although I don't set them beside the door like I normally would. I threw them away.
The soles are warped beyond belief, and I'm sure that Joey almost fell a bunch of times on his way here. They're trash. It makes me worry though, since there's no way Joey is gonna be able to get new shoes any time soon. His asshole of a father has probably already locked him out of the apartment, and I've seen what little the government provides each month. At this point, it's either the street or finding a room mate. That's leaving out the obvious prostitute option too, since Joey would never go for that.
For a second, I hold in my laughter at the thought of Joey actually walking the night and awkwardly flirting with random Alphas. He's definitely not cut out for it. Of course, I pull myself together pretty quickly. This is pretty serious, and I don't know what to do even a little bit. Joey is my best friend, and I don't want him to go through something as lame as this.
I sigh and look down at my phone, frowning. After a minute, I dial Yugi's number. It only takes him two rings to answer.
"Hey Tristan, what's up?" He asks.
"Hey, Joey is at my house. I don't really have time to explain over the phone, but I need you to call Kaiba. You have his number, right?" I ask.
There's a pause before Yugi speaks up again. "Yeah, I have it. Is something wrong?"
I hear worry in his voice, and I smile slightly. "Something just happened with his dad is all. He-" I hear someone's voice in the background and raise an eyebrow slightly.
"Is someone else there?" I ask, a bit confused.
"Oh, um..." Yugi trails off, a bit shy suddenly.
I blush slightly when I hear Yami say, "Hello Tristan."
"Oh, did I interrupt something? I can call Tèa if-" I start, only to be interrupted by Yugi.
"No, no! You aren't interrupting anything! What do you even mean?! What is there to interrupt?!" He rushes, and I hold back a laugh. He clears his throat and continues. "Anyways, you were saying?"
"Hm? Oh. His ankles are a bit cut up, but nothing too deep. I think his dad threw a bottle at him or something, from the looks of it." I say. "So, you'll call Kaiba?"
"Yep! I'll hang up and do that right now!" He says, then hangs up after saying goodbye.
I sigh and look down at Joey, frowning slightly at the crease in his brow. He looks like he's having a nightmare. I wish I could do more to help.*perspective change*
I let out a frustrated growl as I see the light of my phone turn on. It doesn't make a sound, and yet I know I'm receiving another call. I let it ring, not even looking at the name of the caller. I type faster, narrowing my eyes at the screen. After the third call, I stand abruptly and pick the phone up, intent on throwing it across the room as far as I can and laughing maniacally over the shattered remains. However, the name of the caller makes me pause.
'Yugi?' I frown and stare at the screen for a moment, wondering why he would call me so many times in a row. I answer it at the last moment, frowning. I can't help but sound annoyed. "Yes? What is it?"
"You finally answered! I was worried that I'd have to come and get you myself. " He says, and I glare at the screen as if he can see me.
"This better be important. I'm in the middle of typing up some important documents." I don't go into details, since Yugi probably wouldn't understand anyway.
"It's very important!" Yugi insists, and I fight the urge to roll my eyes. I only succeed in stopping myself because of his next words. "Joey is at Tristan's house and..."
It all fades out.At Tristan's house? Why?
My mind goes back to our argument; to Joey's words before I left. The unknown number, which certainly wasn't Yugi's, but also wasn't Joey's. Could it have been Tristan's?
Why would he call? When I zone back in, Yugi is asking me if I'm alright.
"I'm fine. I'll be there in five minutes." I say.
"B-but Tristan's house is twenty-" He starts, and I hang up on him.
I'm not jealous or anything. I'm just curious as to why my mate is at another Alpha's house. Tristan fucking Taylor's house. I'm not overreacting at all, since I just want to ask him who the hell he thinks he is to even look at Joey. That's a perfectly logical question.
Perfectly normal and logical.
I'm in my car in no time, not even giving an excuse as to why I'm leaving. My hands tighten on the steering wheel as I head for Tristan's house. I know where it's at, although only because I looked into it when Joey and I first got together. He and Tristan hang out a lot. Too much, I think.
What do they do, all alone? Have they been talking behind my back? Has Joey tricked me? Has Tristan-
I slam on my brakes, stepping out of the door almost as soon as my car has stopped. Images of Tristan touching Joey, my Joey, flick behind my eyelids.
I stop at the door, my eyes wide.I've utterly lost my composure. I can't believe I almost stormed into Tristan's house and kicked his ass over my own insecure thoughts. I clench my hand into a fist, taking a deep breath and knocking.
'Patience. You don't know the situation.' I think to myself, trying to calm down. 'Just breathe. Everything is going to be-'
Tristan opens the door wide, giving me a view of Joey sprawled out on the couch, unconscious. I grit my teeth, wanting to jump, no plummet, to conclusions. Instead, I close my eyes and put my hands in my pockets. "What happened?"//1185 words! This is kinda slow plot, isn't it? I hope y'all like it anyways!
