I; The Beginning

Looking around, you'd probably think this dull location was that of a dream, the place irregular and unaccustomed. A figment of the imagination, perhaps, a nightmare that haunted those of the unintellectual. From a mortal's perspective, it was common sense this place was definitely just a fantasy, too unearthly for it to be real.

But the people living here were certainly not mortals, although they were completely unaware. To them, this was their normal, and it always had been.

Litter and debris was scattered about the place everywhere you looked, an intoxicating pungent smell taking up the air, a thick fog encasing the hidden villages in the dusty mist.

A little way beyond the repellent village, there stood a substantial building, considerably modern compared to the rest of the area. The building was completely white apart from the black lettering at the front of the building which read "Oxytocin" in sharp letters.

The Oxytocin Organisation partners up each and every person with their perfect partner, accurate down to the very last detail. Everything had to be picture perfect, and if it wasn't, it was adjusted. The man had to be at least 2 inches taller than his female partner, and the female could be no more than 150 pounds (depending on height) or she was put on a strict diet and exercise plan. Everything from their traits to their star signs had to line up together, and that was just the way the Eros villages lived.
It had many flaws, the most important being that just because they have the same interests and find that person attractive doesn't mean that they love them. Many of them weren't heterosexuals, either, but they hardly ever admitted to it. If they did, they were either hauled off to Erebos, a place worse than the dystopia they were surrounded by now, or, they were drowned in the Varuna river. People here weren't normal, and neither was their society. The land in which they lived in was rooted in hate, unequal to say the least. The only people that qualified to live in Eros were white, straight, and cis, and the rest.....gone

A few years ago, Tara Middleton decided everything needed to change. Love wasn't real anymore, just a petty excuse to get someone in bed. Gold diggers and one night stands became a lot more common, and the rules of love were broken. But what are the rules of love? Well, Tara thought she knew and so, she came about entrepreneuring Oxytocin. You see, with Oxytocin, the rules are incredibly strict, but very easy. No cheating, no divorce, no same sex marriage, no polyamorous relationships, no resisting. You had to have a partner whether you liked it or not, and the key goal was for you to start a family too. It was a never ending circle, stuck in a long period of stasis. In this world, you were not allowed to pick and choose, you got what you were given and that was that. Love here was illegal, love meaning the real kind and not just an involuntary setup from people you didn't even know, yet they knew everything about you. If you chose to love whom you want, there were consequences, ones you were unable to escape. Running away was almost unheard of, and those who tried never succeeded. It was a forceful life, one planned out for you since you took your first steps, since your first ever word, since your existence. Every last detail was planned out precisely, and people were somehow okay with that.
