I didn't usually hang out with Austin. We weren't really friends just classmates, him occasionally getting a ride from us. Just like that night.

I shook my head, and looked at the mirror, focusing on my reflection. I didn't look my best. I had bags under my eyes as if I haven't slept in ages. Which I haven't unless you consider sleeping about two hours per night.
I snatched the pins at the sides of my head, which held my hair together in a bun and let my dark-ish brown hair fall on my shoulders. It hid my collarbones which were sticking out, I didn't want people to think that I'm not eating, even if I'm actually not . Not because I have an eating disorder or anything, but because I just don't have much of an appetite these days.

I looked out the window, it was a nice day, no clouds just the clear, blue sky, I stared out the window until I saw a red jeep, that badly needed new paint, drive into our drive way, a minute later a tall guy, with gelled up black hair wearing black jeans and a grey hoodie walked to my front door and disappeared.
"Laurel? Austin is here. " I heard my mother call me from downstairs. I quickly looked at the mirror again, at my big black t-shirt and white skinny jeans which were very uncomfortable. I grabbed my bag and went downstairs to meet Austin.

My mom was already half way out the door as she glanced at me and said
" By honey, I'll be working a night shift today so don't wait up, okay? " I nodded. Having a mom as a doctor has it's own pros and cons , right now I only see cons. I mean it's all great having superhero mom who saves lives every day but it puts her under a lot of pressure and she barely has any time to be at home.
She smiled at Austin and closed the doors.
" Let's go " I said before he had a chance to say anything. I headed to the car , waiting for him to get outside and locking the doors behind me, all while avoiding to look at him.

"We need to talk" He said, his voice deep, jut as I closed the car doors.
"We are not having this conversation, not now."
" It's been two months, Laurel." He said quietly. I put my seat belt on and turned my head to the window not saying anything.
" You're not the only one who lost someone. " said Austin. Now I looked at him, taking in his good looks, the sea green eyes and his strong jawline. Right. His girlfriend, Jenny. She was there too.
" I know, I'm sorry. " I said, my voice breaking. "It's just, I need more time. Please, we'll talk I just need..."
" More time ? "
" Yes. " I said, turning my head once again to the window as Austin started the engine and we started driving to school, which was the last place I wanted to be in right now.
