3rd person POV

Where does the story go from here,

What happens when there's nothing else?

Where does the story go from here when there's nothing left to tell?

Where does the story go, where does the story go?

Pete grabbed Patrick's hand and pulled him to his car. It wasn't badly damaged just a small dent in the bumper. He hopped in the drivers side while Patrick got on the passenger side. It was truly a happy time. They were laughing and holding hands while on the way back to Trick's house. Patrick had explained that Alex was there and he needed to go and explain things. Pete understood and had agreed to go.

When they got to the house Patrick opened the door and found Alex curled up on the couch. She had fallen asleep while waiting. He walked over to shake her awake.

"Alex." he said "wake up."

She didn't wake. He shook a little harder.

"Alex, come on. You gotta wake up. You can't sleep on the couch forever." he said

She didn't move. He started getting a little unsettled. Pete was getting anxious.

"Alex," he shook her harder. "Alex." he noticed now she wasn't breathing. He started panicking and Pete was calling the ambulance.

"Alex, no, no, no. Please you gotta wake up." He had started to cry and tears were streaming down his face. He checked for a pulse. It was slow and faint, but it was there. He noticed a bottle of pain killers on the table. Patrick picked it up and it was half empty. He started crying harder.

"Alex, why?" He cried out. His voice cracking on every syllable. He started to blame himself. "I'm so sorry." he said barely a whisper. "I'm so sorry."

Pete stood by his side comforting him while getting the ambulance to come.
A few minutes later paramedics burst through the door and everything seems to happen in a blur for Patrick.

She gets to the hospital and is taken to get her stomach pumped. Her heart fails once, she's rescued. Twice, She was almost gone.

Everything else by that point Patrick can't remember. He had become numb and blocked out anything after that. He couldn't take it. He couldn't.

What they didn't know.

During the two weeks apart Alex had become attached to someone. Not Phil, but someone very bad.

She had become involved with him over a few cocktails and a lonely night in lingerie.

She was done after the first two days. He just kept coming back for more. She had become frightened. He didn't care. He took advantage of her. She never told anyone.

They sat for days in the waiting room. They weren't allowed into her room. They sent in the things people have given them to give to her. Mostly flowers.

Phil had stayed with Pete and Patrick. For the days they had stayed there. He cancelled his flight to stay longer. To make sure she was okay.

Her heart never failed a third. It kept going.

On the fifth day she had woken up. The doctor had examined her to make sure she was okay.

She was finally allowed to have visitors.

The doctor came out and told them they could go see them. The fog around his mind had lifted and Patrick started walking towards her room.
