I have been in London for four weeks now. It's been so amazing. Although there isn't as much sun and beach culture like back home in Sydney, there is a lot to see and do. I plan to stay for six months, but it could change depending on what happens. I'm 18 turning 19 in a few months. I have a beautiful apartment that's rustic and modern, and a queen bed in a room with a massive window overlooking the city.
I decide to get up, not wanting to waste the day since it's remarkably sunny for once. I put on a simple white top and navy skirt. Down in the street there is some commotion. I look through the window of my kitchen and see a huge crowd of what looks like screaming fans surrounding a car. I assume someone leaves the car, but I can't make out who it is from all the crowds. It was probably a celebrity. Oh well, I most likely won't find out.
I hop into my car and drive down to a little marketplace where I usually buy groceries. I find some new organic products to try, as well as the regular essentials. I'm thinking of going out tonight-having a night to myself. For the rest of the day, I run some errands and clean up around the apartment. At about 7, I get ready to go out. I wear white tailored shorts, a burnt-orange crop top and Windsor Smith platforms. I do my hair up in a slick high ponytail and straighten the ends. Finally I do my makeup- huge dark eyes, light bronze cheeks, natural lips.
I go down town where there's a big clubbing district. I find one called 'XCX' which looks cool so I go in. I slowly walk down the stairs that lead underground through shiny black doors. I can hear the thumping sound of loud dance music and it hits full blast as I stand at the entrance. The room glows purple and blue with the lights and a huge crowd dances in the dark before me. I walk into the group and start dancing. It's fun, but it's not like having a friend to party with. At one point, I look over to my left and see a guy dancing nearby. His back is turned, but I notice his dark curls. He looks....familiar. I slowly dance my way through the people towards him. He turns to the side and I see part of his face. He has the most beautiful smile, and fluffy brown hair-it's Brad! Brad from The Vamps! I completely freak out. What is he doing here??? I walk over and try to keep my cool. "Um excuse me?" I say shyly. He turns to me and smiles. "Hello." Brad says in his cute British accent.
"Woah. Sorry I'm just a bit freaked out. I can't believe you're here!"
"Hahaha no need to freak out. I'm not that scary."
"I know, I know. But you're Brad Simpson that's so cool! I actually went to your Sydney show for the Meet The Vamps Tour."
"Oh really? That was a sick concert, I loved it. First show out there!"
"Oh my God it was so incredible! You boys really put on a show. Do you reckon I could maybe get a photo?"
"Absolutely!" He takes out his own phone.
"Wait what are you doing?"
"Taking a selfie. I wanna keep the photo, and I'll send it to you." Woah. Brad wants to keep a photo of us??? He takes a photo the shows it to me.
"That's a good one......sorry I didn't catch your name?"
"It's Alana. But call me Lani."
"That's a cute name. I like it." I dance with him for a while.
"Hey Lani let me buy you a drink."I sit down on a black leather couch off to the side of the dance floor and he goes to the bar. I watch Brad. He looks good, even though he's not particularly dressed up. He wears black skinny jeans, a check shirt that has a few buttons undone at the chest, and he has these cool bracelets and wristbands on. I turn my attention to my phone. Ugh, its an unknown number but I can tell it's my ex. As much as I don't want to, I open it just to see what it says. Mathew says "hey babe can we talk soon? I've been thinking and I can't deal without you. I miss you. Can I call you tomorrow?" I roll my eyes. What am I supposed to say? He was a douche. I reply back "I really don't know Matty. I'm kinda busy at the moment, and what is there to say? You cheated on me twice. I can't take that anymore." I breathe deeply then lock my phone. When I look up I see Brad has come back with two colourful drinks. He sits down quite close and passes me one.
"So Lani, tell me about yourself."
"Hmmm......well, I'm from Sydney if you hadn't guessed. But I'm over here for about six months. I'm turning 19 soon."
"Ah nice. Do you have a boyfriend or anything back home?"
"I did. But he cheated. Twice."
"What??? That's insane!! Why would he wanna cheat on you?"
"He was a douche. Never really knew why I dated him. I guess he found someone better."
"But you're beautiful. And sweet." I giggle at the compliment. "So have you found any other guys recently? Anyone here in England?"
"Nah. I've been going solo. Which is ok I guess- it gives me a bit more time to myself. But it can get lonely. It's nice when you have someone there at the end of the day."
"Oh yeah...." He says, leaning closer as we talk. We keep chatting, becoming more friendly and flirty every minute.
"You know, you have really beautiful eyes. They are like blue in the middle with little bits of green. That's cool." I laugh, since it's so silly but kind still.
"Thank you. your eyes remind me of.....chocolate." He looks down and giggles. When he meets my eyes again he says "Hey can I kiss you?"
I get so nervous. We've just met, and a famous guy wants a kiss?? he's cute though..... I stare into his eyes and nod slowly. He puts his hand under my chin and brings my face to his. He begins kissing me, biting my lip slightly as I taste raspberry and vodka from his drink. He's a really good kisser. Once we break apart, he says"Hey do you wanna come back to my place?"
"Wait you live with the guys right?"
"Yeah haha you can meet them."
"Ok. Sure." I say, trying to keep cool. Just going to the Vamps house. No big deal.
