Justin smiled warmly at his homeroom teacher as he slid behind his desk, sitting up properly in his chair. The sixteen-year-old offered a sunny grin which his teacher promptly returned before going back to the stack of essays before her. 

Justin opened his bag and took out his pens, laying each of them neatly in a row on the left-hand corner of the desk. He placed his new notebook in front of him. He had made it last night. 

The cover was smooth and silky.   His mother's expensive moisturizer had certainly done its job well. He'd used the best materials.
