So a period is when a girls ovarie (I don't know if that is the singular for ovaries. It puts the red dotted line?? Tell me in the comments)lets an egg out of the body that has not been fertilized. The egg is so small you can't see nor feel it. The lining inside that would have been used for a baby is shed too. This can include blood and tissue. I know it sounds kinda gross but it is totally normal.
