Josephs POV
The last day of high school had come. Twelve years of misery had come to an end. Now looking back on my high school years, specifically, the best highlight was getting the best boyfriend I could ever ask for, Ben Hardy. We had always ignored the homophobic slurs thrown at us, and well, just kept loving. My words will probably never be able to show my extraordinary love for Ben. In my last period of high school, I will ever have, I shifted my attention from my history teacher to the clock. One more minute until my last our with Ben.
Bens POV
I was counting the seconds until I could see joe. When the clock hit 3:00 pm I threw on my backpack and dashed out the doorway, hoping to run into joe. Unfourntonetly, only crowds of unpleasant people drove through the hallways towards the front exit. With all the commotion, a sense of vertigo washed over me, almost making me faint. "I should head towards the back exit, Joe's car is parked there, anyway," I thought. After smashing out the back door and fighting against classmates heading in the opposite direction, I saw joes rusty Toyota Camry parked in the back. I glimpsed through the windows only to see joe wasn't here yet. I pushed myself against the side waiting for my dearest boyfriend to arrive in his car.
Josephs's POV
"oh, shit! I'm gonna be late!" I looked at the clock, it had been fifteen minutes since school ended and ben was probably waiting. I shoved the rest of the contents in my backpack and headed towards the back only to see ben was waiting there for me. "Ben I'm so sorry!"I swiftly pulled my keys out of my pocket and got the car running. "Joe, relax. You're not too late" Ben hushed at me. "fifteen bloody minutes is a lot" I replied a bit tensely. A Couple minutes of awkward silence passed until ben asked me a question. "Where are we going anyway?" ben questioned. "Remember our first date?" I replied
Bens POV
Six years ago, when we were seventh-grade hopeless romantics, we headed to a breathtaking field that had dandelions and daisies scattered across it. I won't ever forget that day, we had our first kiss there and this might be our last... for a while. Joe pulled up to some dusty lot that had some wood planks on the left side of the area. "its a three-minute walk" Joe announced. During that three minute walk and some minutes of when we sat under the tree, we were silent. Almost as if we had nothing to say about each other before the big goodbye. Joe grasped onto my hand and gave me a slight grin. "love, how on earth has this relationship only grown over six years?" I looked to the ground and smiled, "well id have to think about that one, any ideas?"
Josephs POV
I didn't know how that question came to mind. out of everything like "how was your day honey?" to "what did you think of high school?" I chose that. Ben looked over with a good look in his eye. "ignoring the slurs, and just muting everyone on the outside that had hate towards our relationship. The ones who always said wed be done in no time and that our relationship was attention-seeking. We Went deaf towards them and let our love take over hate. In fact, I can't recall a single tame we let hate get to us. don't you think that was the key?" A sparkle formed in my eye, it could take lots of time to answer but simply replied "Yeah, I guess that was it."
