I awoke to the purring of my cat, ronny on my chest. I chuckle lightly and stroke the feline, "first day, bud." I say softly to him. I smile, then remember I am speaking to a cat. I carefully remove him from my chest and stand. I look through my closet, unsure of what to wear. What do they like? What do the other kids wear? I didn't know.
My old school was a private school. I didn't have to worry about outfits or shoes or any crap like that, in fact, I barely had anything to wear. I knew only one person at this new school, my neighbour, Alison.
I quickly grab some jeans and a purple t-shirt. I check myself in the mirror. My hair is a mess. I comb the blonde, poofy strings into a point like style. I then grab my large, square black glasses and place them over my blue-green eyes. Good enough. I decide I couldn't be late for the first day, and I head down stairs.
"Sam?" I hear my mother call. I groan.
"Yes, mom?" I say and turn to her. She smiles, and moves a strand of my hair out of my face. "Good luck," she says in the smallest hint of a whisper. I grin and kiss her cheek. "Thanks." I tell her.I grab my wallet and an apple. I head out the door to see Alison waiting for me across the street.
She's a pretty girl, with pale skin and hair that could be considered brown or blonde. Beside her is two other teenagers, a girl and a boy. The girl is short with long brown hair and green eyes, with an hourglass type body, but very big legs. The boy is much taller than the girl with perfectly styled dark hair, pale skin and a well put together outfit.
The girl looks angry, maybe slightly pissed off, with her arms crossed and her foot tapping. The boy has his arm around her and I assume they are dating. As I take all of this in, I walk towards Alison and the 2 strangers.
Alison steps forward and hugs me. She's like my sister. "Hey, Sam." She smiles and turns to gesture to the two others. "This is Erica, and Johnny. Erica, Johnny, this is Sam." Erica changes her expression and extends her hand to me. I shake it, then I wait for Johnny to give me his hand, but he just turns, places his arm back around Erica and continues walking. I shrug. Here goes nothing.
