Chapter 31: Blood Everywhere
I flew fast in the air trying to make my way through the clouds.
The struggle was almost too much to bear as the clouds darkened.
It was going to be bad.
More than just rain.
But a storm.
I began flying faster than I’ve ever had in the air, mist covered my eyes as the clouds declared that they just couldn’t hold up any longer.
Then there it was the bright flash of light we call lightning.
A wide clashing sound.
Thunder…
Oh hell.
Here comes the rain.
I looked down trying to see if I was getting any nearer to my destination.
Far down below the roof of an averaged sized home seized over my vision, and of course the several tree branches stretching on the backyard floor. Ever since I crash landed in my backyard. I guess with my mom’s so called job she still never got it fixed.
Rain drops started pounding on my back, and on my wings like pellets. It was hard to maneuver my flight, and with every drop I became weaker I just couldn’t take it anymore.
Then here comes another crash landing.
Shit.
My body crashes ironically on the same tree as it did before, but there was no one there.
My body was weak.
I could feel a sharp pain in my back. I didn’t know what it was, I reached out to touch my it but then several feathers seemed to gather all at once in my hands. It was my crushed wings.
Wonderful! I say sarcastically.
I started climbing down the tree, and then I stopped. Feeling a sharp excruciating pain, I bit my lip as I lifted the weight on my left foot shifting it towards my right foot.
I looked up at the sky and let out a loud exhausted groan.
Another bright light flashes in the sky.
Lightning again.
With this storm I knew I had to climb the rest of the way down and get into the house fast.
It wasn’t safe, outside.
Since, the tree I crashed on is the highest point compared to my lawn, and so most likely I’d be struck by lightning.
I didn’t want to be electrocuted!
I slowly started making sure I avoided all pressure on my left foot as possible. while began to limp towards the house I used to live in.
The house I left.
The house I left my family in.
The house I escaped.
Along with the house that I loved, but at the time I needed to be selfish and focus on me and my powers.
With every hop, and painful step I made toward that house I could feel all the memories pour right back into my head. Nina, Nigel, and my mom.
But something was different.
The house I left wasn’t gloomy.
The house I left had gorgeous flowers embedded on every section of the lawn.
