Katsuki laid awake in his bed, staring into nothingness just like he has been the past few weeks.  Today was the day where he would stop sneaking out at night to visit his moms grave. He was venting to it, almost like he could hear her talk back but he knows it's just his imagination.

He turned his head to the side, his eyes squinting to see it was six in the morning on a Saturday. Great, he didn't sleep at all.

With a groan, he turned on his side, nuzzling up to the blanket and buried his face in the pillow. He shut his eyes and cleared his head, breathing slowly and calming his restless body.

With the soothing sound of chirping birds and the buzzing of bees muffled outside his window, he drifted into a dreamless sleep, for once.

Masaru knocked softly on his sons door, Kirishima about a foot behind him.

"Katsuki, are you up?" Masaru called. Silence. Hesitantly, the timid man peeked in through the door to see his son fast asleep. "Ahh, he must've had another insomnia episode. He's usually wide awake and screaming by now." Masaru cracked the door, and lead Kirishima downstairs. "I'm sorry, but you're welcome to stay as long as you need."

"Thanks Mr—I mean, thank you Masaru," Kirishima chuckled.

"I'll need to head out. I'll be back around midnight so don't panic when you hear the door open." Masaru waved bye and Kirishima stood at the doorway, watching the man leave in his car.

His mom is going away for about a month, and insisted that Eijirou stay with a friend. He was gonna stay with Kami but didn't want to put strain on his already broken family and Mina's parents said no since he was a boy. So his only option was Katsuki, and he was sort of glad that he already had a close relationship with him and his dad.

Kirishima dropped his bags in the small guest room down the hall from Katsuki's own bedroom. With nothing to do, he played games on his charging phone until he heard the door open close by. He looked at the time to see that it was 2 in the afternoon.

He hopped from his bed and peaked out his door to see messy blond hair disappearing downstairs. 'I guess Katsuki's up.'

Bakugou searched the fridge for something to eat. He hadn't predicted to sleep in that long so he was conflicted if he should eat breakfast or—

"BOO!" Bakugou jumped and punched the intruder behind him in the stomach. Bakugou was about to hit him again until he realized who it was.

"Don't fucking do that you red haired loser! I could've killed you!"

"I see that, haha~" Kirishima laughed as he slowly stood up, wincing every now and then. His bright smile and his humorous red eyes blinded Katsuki more than the sun bursting through the window.

"Why're you here?" Bakugou asked, retrieving an ice pack for the redhead's stomach. Kirishima smiled as he held the cold bag of peas.

"I'm actually going to be staying here for a while. Three weeks to a month." Kirishima sat at the counter, wincing as he moved. "I would stay with Mina or Denki, but it wouldn't be good for Kami and Mina's parents said no. Not to mention Sero has no room in his house for a long term stay."

Bakugou quirked a brow. "Why can't you stay home alone? Isn't that what you always do?"

"Not really. I usual stay with Denki when my mom has to go away for more than two weeks, which is rare." Eijirou shrugged. "I asked your dad and he said I could stay as long as I want or needed. I'll probably go home in two weeks time anyway." Eijirou smiled brightly. "Besides, I like hanging out with you! You're my best friend after all!"

Bakugou flinched internally. Best friend. The more he thought about it, the more it seemed that Mina was just trying to start something between them. Kirishima saw him as a friend.  He didn't portray any romantic signs besides that one time where they hugged in his room, and helped Bakugou sleep at that sleepover. He was just being a friend.  And a damn good one too.

But that didn't mean Katsuki was gonna give up that sliver of hope to be with him. Kirishima was gay, he knows that, and he probably likes Kaminari or something since they've known each other longer. And that made Katsuki restless, which is why he keeps venting to his moms grave. He would vent to his dad, but that man has too much on his shoulders already. And Masaru knows that Katsuki likes him, so that's probably why he said yes in the first place.

His mind kept going thousands of miles per hour and the information he tried to sort is getting mushed together instead.

He sighed, "I guess." Bakugou was gonna observe Kirishima to see if he does anything.

Katsuki wasn't gonna confess and ruin his friendship until he knows, that's for damn sure.

{~}

     Nothing. Absolutely nothing.

Two weeks has already gone by in an instant. And Kirishima showed no signs that he had feelings for the blond. The sliver a hope he had was starting to fly away.

The night before Kirishima had to go home, he stayed wide awake. He couldn't sleep, and his mind couldn't either. Kirishima didn't do anything out of the ordinary that Bakugou could see. He made him blush a lot but that's probably because the blond embarrassed him with teasing. And Kirishima always took the seat next to him instead of across, he knew that was weird but he always did that so it wasn't new. That was basically it.

Katsuki moaned and cursed quietly. Is there something he's missing? Something he didn't see or didn't put together?

After a few more analysis, he concluded that they were just friends.  That didn't fit his feelings and he hated it. Katsuki was fucked.

Restless and heartbroken, he threw off his covers and stood up. He was going to his moms grave and no one would stop him. He dressed himself in all black and warm clothing and opened his door quietly, aware that Kirishima could be awake in his room since it was still early.

He softly tiptoed downstairs and realized he was totally wrong. Kirishima was on the couch on FaceTime with Mina. He hid behind the stair rail and eavesdropped into their conversation.

And he was glad he did.
