Xander's POV

I was relaxing on my couch when my phone rang.

Xavier

Why would he be calling me now?

But I however picked it up.

Hello Mr Xander my wife is stuck in your office building's lift.
Oh my. Rose is stuck in the lift?

You have to do something. She's loosing her conscience.

Yeah I left for the building. I'll be there in about 10 minutes. Don't worry son she is like a daughter to me. I won't let anything happen to her.

...pls do something. Yes she is catastrophic.

And then he hanged up. From his voice I could tell that he was panicking like anything.

I reached the building and ordered the gaurds to open the door and also put the electricity on.
The asked me why

" Oh for fucks sake do as I say. My daughter is trapped in the lift." 
They nodded and ran in response.

The electricity was turned on and the lifts door opened.

What I saw inside made my legs week.

There she laid, beautiful daughter, in a pool of blood surrounding her. Her phone was on and Xavier was trying to call her name again and again. I asked one of my gaurds to pick up the phone and tell him that we are taking her to hospital.

I rushed to my car and drove as fast as I could to the hospital.

There she was taken to the operating room.

I sat there defeated. I called her father and informed him. He quickly came running and asked if she was alright.

" The doctor haven't said anything yet. Let him come and then we can ask him" I told him.

Suddenly a lady in her mid fifties  barged in the room and asked about Rose's situation.

Mr and Mrs Black too joined us soon as soon as Xavier told them about the accident.

I informed her that she is in operating room and the doc haven't informed anything yet.

My phone went off. I looked at the caller ID and it was Xavier.

How is she? Is she ok? Where did she get hurt? When you found her was she unconscious?

Son one at a time. She passed out in the lift before I got there. She is in operating room and the doctor haven't said anything yet so we can't say anything.

Is she injured too badly? Do I need to come back to town?

No son. No need to come back in urgency we'll take care of her here. You completed your work and then you can come back.

By the time I kept the phone Alex was a crying mess. I can understand his misery. She is like my daughter too, the one which I never had.
I sat next to him and draw soothing circles on his back

After what felt like eternity, the doctor came back and said

" She lost a lot of blood. Plus it seems like she didn't had anything after her breakfast. She was panicked and unconscious when you brought her here. She has a concussion but it not too bad. She is currently unconscious. We have to wait till she gets conscious. She is however out of danger."  Saying that he went off.

I quickly called Xavier and informed him everything the doctor said. To say he was relieved, would be an understatement.

" I should have called her to check if she had her lunch. You see she always forgets her lunch while working. My phone was also switched off when she called. Oh God I would have lost my second child also." Alex said shaking his head tears silently escaping his eyes.

" From now on I will make sure she have proper lunch at the office, heck I'll only eat with her so she won't have other choice. And only leave the building with her on my side. I won't let her out my site brother, I promise.". I promised Alex.
