Kenzie's POV
I started getting ready by 5. I put on a  dress with thigh high black boots. While I was doing my makeup, Maddie opened my door and hesitantly came in. She opened her mouth to say something but then didn't. She just stood there watching me while biting her nail. I became impatient because of the silence

K- So like, no comments?

M- You know it's not about that

K- Well yeah but I could really use a sister right now *rolls her eyes*

M- Kenz, u don't get it

K- Maddie, plz. *Sigh* I told u I need to get my mind off of something

M- Something or.....someone?

K-...

M- It's something about Johnny isn't it?

I looked at her in the eye and silently sent her a message, "I don't wanna talk about it". She seemed to read my expression as she smiled and took out the hair curler and curled my hair

M- Okay, then. I m letting u go in this date BUT LISTEN, there HAS to be some boundaries

I chuckled at how protective Maddie can be. I missed her more than anything

K- Okay ma'am. What are they?

M- First, you will only go there and back. Nowhere else other than the restaurant. I don't want u going somewhere else with him.

K- oooookay? Next?

M- Secondly, No touching, no kissing. It's a first date.

K- Maddie!

M- I told u. BOUNDARIES.

K- Okay great! And-

We hear a car honk outside. I look from my balcony and see a brand new white Mercedes outside, Ashton sitting in the driver's seat with his phone in his hand.

M- The brat didn't even come out of the car? Seriously?!

K- Maddie shush. I gotta go bye

I hug her and get out of the house. Well uh yeah Ashton didn't come out of the car but who cares. I didn't want to push my luck. I slowly get in the passenger's seat. He didn't notice. I wait for a minute, then he finally looks up and smiles at me

A- Hey beautiful. Didn't see u come in.

K- Yeah um, sooo where are we going?

A- Told u, it's a restaurant nearby. You will see

He starts the car and starts driving. We didn't really talk. I saw him glancing at me with a smirk in his face from the corner of my eye but I chose not to make eye contact. I started thinking about what Maddie had said, "Don't believe him. He can be worse than his brother when he gets the chance". I really started to wish I didn't say yes. I felt kinda uh scared. But, all of those feelings floated out of me when we reached the restaurant.

K- Are u kidding me?

A- *chuckles* You can say woah.

Ok actually, WOAH. The whole restaurant was decorated with yellow and red lights. When we got in, I was even more surprised.

K- uh why is it um empty?

By empty I meant no people. Like literally there were no customers in the whole restaurant. We were the only people. I literally thought this place was gonna be filled with people

A- *grins* Let's just say I booked the whole place for this princess

K- ..You didn't really have to-

A- I want to get to know u Kenzie. Better if we are alone right?

I didn't know how I felt about that but I just nodded. We sat on a table in the center. A waiter came and took our orders. We talked meanwhile. It was nice having him around. He didn't really try anything but, I didn't feel that spark. But I was happy that he wasn't aggressive or Something. At least he was honest. Right?

A- I really thought u we're going to say no

K- *chuckles* oh really? Why?

A- well let's just say I hate to push my luck

K- Mhm we will see about that

The food came. We ate, laughed and talked. I felt good around him. But I would be lying if I said I didn't miss John. He was different.

*Ashton dropped her home*

When we reached our house, he finally got out and opened the door for me. I got out and thanked him, thinking about a way to end the conversation

A- We should hangout some other time

K- yeah maybe

A- Maybe?

K- *laughs* You did say u didn't like pushing ur luck.

A- Maybe this time I will push my luck

He looked me in the eye and slowly started to lean in. I felt the car behind my back.
