Bleed For Me:Chapter 5

Chapter 5

 

"Sarah," I started, "I'm also a vampire, but, I was born like this. The night you were attacked, I sensed another vampire. That's why I tried to protect you. But he came after I left. I wasn't able to protect you.I'm sorry you have to be like us.I'm sorry you have to suffer.I'm sorry you turned into this."

"No James.I'm not blaming you.Its not your fault.You didn't want it to happen.But we can't do anything now.Its already here.I'm already changed.I'm a monster now.A merciless blood hunter.I'm not human anymore."

"But you're not alone!I'm here now.I've been looking for you.I won't leave you anymore!"

"No!I'm not coming with you!I made a promise to myself.I made a mission, to make use of this curse."

"And what's that?Kill people?!Sell yourself and kill your men?!Is that it?!"

Sarah remained silent.

"I'm doing this for charity.I'm killing them to lessen crimes and killings.I sell myself to feed the starving families.I'm not doing this for myself.I'm doing this to help."

"By ruining yourself?Your helping by commiting crimes!You feed through bad money!How can you help by killing others and ruining your own life?!"

"I don't have a life!I know that I'm a living dead!"

I was surprised.I didn't expect Sarah would say those things.I didn't expect her to be that harsh on herself.She started crying.

A long deafening silence started between us.She started to calm down.

"You can't do anything now James.I'm not Sarah anymore.I'm not the girl you grew up with.I'm not the girl you once knew."

"Come with me.Let's start again.You still have a chance.Don't lose hope."

"James, the only way that I can be happy again is when I already know and killed the one who did this to me."

Pause.Ouch!That hurts!I felt my face turned pale.I felt Sarah's hatred.

"Are you alright James?It's better if you go now.No one must see you here."

She accompanied me to the door.

"Bye."

I started walking,then a thought came by me.

"What if I tell you who bit you?"

She was surprised.

"You don't know what you're talking about."she said.

"Oh, yes I do.I know him.I've seen him.And I can show you."

She was startled. She was thinking if she would believe me or not.

"Or just saying that to make me come with you."

"Why don't you trust me anymore?Am I that foreign to you now?"

She paused.

"Ok. I'll come with you if you tell me."

"Oh no, my dear.You have to do what I want first.You'll have to go on with my conditions."

She hesitated for a while but decided to come.

I told her to change first. To go back to the old her.

"I, I don't know how to start."

 I didn't expect that one. How will she start again if she doesn't know where to start.

"Just, just come with me."

I didn't know what to do but it would probably come while I'm with her. We passed by a mall.

"Let's start by getting back your old look. The descent and nice looking you."

We bought some shirts and skirts threw away her clothes. Then I took her to the salon to freshen up. The total look after all of those was the nice Sarah that I loved from the start.

At first I thought that everything was finally going back to normal.That she would actually go back to the girl that she was before. But then, after some time, I started seeing the changes that happened while she was trying to survive in what she thought was right.

I observed that she was disturbed as though irritated by something unseen. I didn't realize it until I saw her eyes flash with a sudden viciousness that looked like the eyes of a predator. She is starting to get thirsty. And the mall seemed like a giant fridge with a variety of choices just waiting for her to grab them.

"Let's go home."

She started to calm down a bit.

With a bit of hesitation, she took my hand and looked me in the eye. Then we started walking towards the exit.
