WHEN ZELDA REGAINED HER CONSCIOUSNESS, IT WAS ALL A HAZE TO HER. The last thing she recalled was telling Pan that she didn't want to stay in Neverland anymore and he told her that she couldn't leave because he didn't want her to. When she turned from her side onto her back, she felt like she was being suspended in the air and that woke her up completely. She found herself inside a wooden cage and the bars were thick but not thick enough to completely block out the light of the fire that still burned.

"I see you're awake," Pan said and Zelda jolted.

The boy looked up at her from the ground with his arms crossed over his chest. The cage she was inside seemed to be very high up and it was held by a rope which was tied down to keep her from falling.

"What is this? Let me down," she said as she tried to avoid moving so much.

"Not a fan of heights, are you?" Pan asked tauntingly while smirking at the frightened girl who was stuck in a wooden cage above the ground and trying not to rock it back and forth.

"All of this because I said I wanted to leave?" she questioned.

"You're much safer in there. If you try to leave, things might get pretty ugly for you."

     "I'll take my chances."

Pan chuckled. "Now, how exactly are you going to do that when you're locked up inside a cage that's hanging ten feet above the ground?" he asked.

The young teen sighed softly while Pan joined the Lost Boys around the fire. She leaned against one of the barred walls and she could feel every last bit of hope she had diminishing. The one time she was sure that she could escape her misery, she was thrown into more misery and instead of being her mother's prisoner, she became Peter Pan's prisoner. While the Lost Boys played and danced around the fire, all Zelda could do was sit in her cage and wish that things had been different.

She wished that her biological parents didn't give her away when she was a baby, that the man who was supposed to be her father after that never walked out on them and that the woman who was the only mother she had ever known was never so cruel to her over all those years. She wished that she had found another way to start her life all over instead of giving into the Shadow that appeared at her window. Even the Shadow itself was magic and she gave into it way before she knew that magic even existed. She should've known that letting the Shadow take her to Neverland was gonna come with a catch and she didn't know how long it would be until she paid her price for giving in.
