Over the hills, unsuspected; moving as black as soot, they trudged on like animals. Beasts of a strange sorts; skin of onyx flesh barring eyes of gold, they strutted upon twisted bodies. Mimicking demons, these creatures were of a damned tier.

No.

This nightmare had been wrought by one: the White Witch. Riding on wheels of alabaster, pulled by beasts less fortunate she rode amongst her army.

It all fell so quickly.

We barely had any time before we were overrun.

Man, woman, child; it mattered not to these... monsters.

They came in clots, tackling men they ripped to pieces — clawing to their chests they dug trenches in their innards... as if they strived for something.

They shed not a drop of blood when slain. Mist and fog of darkness spewed from what wounds they had. Coated, the air became thick with this shadow.

I stood midst chaos; screams, anarchy, bloodlust, this is all I had. Cutting down few seemed to birth a place for several more. It was here, in the heart of havoc, did I lay my eyes on Jerek. In the precious few moments before all of Hell had torn our walls asunder I had given unto him a task of baffling gravity: I had ordered Amelia to take Luke to him. I'd arranged in such circumstance a home — one within a forest village near — as a haven for the two. Jerek would've been the one to harbor them, yet here he is.

"Jer-eck!!" I broke the tempo of bloodshed. Suddenly his eyes found me. He stood atop a wall and waved his hand off, he gestured deeper within the kingdom. All had slowed, no sound, no movement, not a word , only the void emerged between us.

The village... it was under siege...

You left them?
