My dearest friend, I miss you.
I wish you could only know.
Every day that passes by,
The heartache, it does grow.
I wish that I could see you,
And be with you face to face.
I want to hold you close to me,
And feel your sweet embrace.
My friend, it's been forever,
And there's so much I must say.
From childhood you've been my heart,
Why must you be so far away?
Time won't close the distance
And the wound won't heal with age.
I've never felt so far from you,
Come close to me and turn the page.
The story's far from over,
Though long ago it did begin.
We'll write the book from front to back
And tell of childhood love and sin.
One day we'll be together,
Like we promised so long ago.
An innocent pact that binds us,
Until the day I die, I'll search the globe.
