This is a little short story, inspired by and exam title on one of our English Papers.

The story you are about to hear, is by all means, true. Though you may not believe it, it is. So deal with it.

Now 'Magic'. Yes Magic. No, not the voo-doo, wave-your-hands-about-as-if-that'd-work 'magic' , but Magic, a name. I'm not lying here, why would I lie? Magic, is this guy I knew.

He was completely obsessed with magic tricks. Who'd have known? Now, to be fair, Magic was a good magician, nay, a great magician. I know nothing of the practice, so I suppose he was a 'great magician' as I previously stated. Anyways, back to the point.

The students went to great lengths to avoid having Magic perform a magic trick on them. He was secluded from the population of the school. Which, I deemed unfair. 'Cause it was.

Magic was an extrovert. He wore outrageous clothing, and always had a new hairstyle. He repeatedly pissed-off the teachers, and not even on purpose. He would practice new magic tricks on them. They were his test dummies, or guinea-pigs.

But, every magic-trick done on them back fired. Now that I think of it, maybe he did piss them off on purpose. Clever boy.

One day, Magic came dressed in as 'Robin' from 'Batman'. I greatly admired the boy's courage to come in, in tights and a cape. He even had the mask and all! This 'get-up' caused a lot of commotion within the school. The teachers were furious, the 'populars' were in fits of laughter, and the "geeks"(including me) were in pure awe. My awe was in the face he chose Robin, and DC comics. I've always prefered Marvel Comics. But I guess that's just me.

The next day he came in dressed as Batman. I noticed something strange though. He was looking directly at our table. Even more strange, he was looking directly at me. Now, I didn't know if he was mocking us or not, or if he was aiming it directly at me. Honestly. I was incredibly confused.

That Monday, he came in dressed as Loki from 'Thor' and 'Avengers Assemble'. The movies. And he walked directly over to me... I mean, our table. I was shocked to say the least. He was dressed as LOKI. My all-time favorite super-villain. I thought for a few seconds and came to a conclusion as to why he was dressing up, and not doing his magic-tricks. He was definitely mocking us.

I knew then he had heard my conversation with Lily, my best friend. It went a little like this;

"This is incredible! He's dressed as BATMAN!" Lily said. Did I mention Batman is her favorite super-hero. Gosh, how are we even friends...

"Yeah, I guess. I'd prefer if he dressed as Loki though. That'd be majorly incredible."

"Ugh, Katie, get over Loki. He's a villain. Not a super-hero."

"You can't tell me you don't have a favorite super-villain." I scoffed after that. "I love Loki, so deal with it. Plus, Marvel and DC are two different things. Marvel wins."

And then we ranted over who would win a battle, Iron Man versus Batman, Thor versus the Green Lantern or Captain America versus Superman. I won two out of three. Yep. You can guess which one I lost.

Anyway, he was dressed as Loki. He had walked right over to our table and stood there. Gosh. I don't know how the teachers didn't try to confiscate the helmet, or sceptor(or as Tony would say "Glow stick of Destiny").

I stood up and laughed slightly at it all. It was definitely surreal. But, boy, did he pull off that leather and metal. Phwoar. "You're an eavesdropper, you are" I said. He nodded. Magic, really wasn't one for words, unless necessary. That was what I was told. "Are you mocking us?" He shook his head. "Don't lie. I know you are." He shook his head again. "I don't lie" he said. His voice was raspy and dry sounding, I guess from lack of use. "Then what are you doing?" I asked, trying my best to be confident. But I was never the dominant-confident type. At all. Still amen't.

He looked down. there was a tint of pink appearing on his cheeks. Then, he looked me in the eyes. "I was trying to impress you". My eyes had widened quite a bit. So much, I felt as if my eyes were to fall out of their sockets. Disgusting feeling really...

I was nervous. Seriously. So he just stood there for a few minutes. Patiently. Too patiently actually. Damn it was a scary two minutes. Then he spoke again. "Will you go out with me?" I was speechless, and frankly, extremely impressed. It was an act of love, or like. I guess love. And, I loved it. I said yes, because those acts of 'love' made me fall for him.

And kids, you know this man. How? He's your father. Did I metion we met in University? Well, we met in uni.

Your dad's name is Matt. Okay. But in university, everyone called him Magic, because of the Magic tricks. Jeez. Get over that fact. Let's just say, it happened by 'Magic'.

A/N; I told you it was short. Anyways. Yep. Loki, Batman, Robin. Pretty serious stuff going on here. Well, tell me your favorite Marvel comics and DC comics Super-Hero and Super-Villains. I'll see if I can recognise any ;)
