The sun rose slowly causing the sky to be like an amber light across the forest. The birds started to wake up and chirp with joy as other animals were stretching and shaking off their sleep.
Olivia groaned loudly and rolled over to the other side of the bed, her fathers voice echoing in her head. Wolves sleep well but not late. She gathered up her strength as she crawled out of bed and put on black pants with a white shirt and a brown cardigan.
The screen door to the backyard squeaked and she grabbed her hose from the side of the house. She bummed quietly as she watered her yard and her garden.
"Oh you guys are growing so well." She smiled and her ears flicked with excitement. A loud scream erupted from the front yard making Olivia jump. Her ears reared back and her tail was flat against her legs. She turned of the water and walked towards the front peaking through the yellow stained window of the door.
Three men were walking through the woods past her house with a girl struggling to break free. One of the men was drinking out of a dark brown bottle with the label soaked and peeling off. The second man was very tall, the tallest and he was one of them holding onto the girl who seemed to be crying. The third man was big and round like a bear, but he was obviously human, but he was loudly eating a huge chunk of meat. Olivia lifted up her nose and sniffed as the meat seemed to be deer. She scrunched up her nose and opened the door.
They were just past the porch when they noticed the sound and started looking at the house. The bear noticed Olivia first and with a messy smile he walked up to her.
"Hello Miss, my name is William and these men are helping us. What a lovely hat you have." He spoke with a grumble. She had slipped on a sun hat before walking out, humans weren't fond of her or her tribe. Meaning her kind.
"Thank you, I must ask why is she so sad and trying to escape?" She asked. The girl was wearing a brown cloak and a hood over her head, her golden eyes met with Olivia's gray ones.
"Well miss she's one of them cat folk, it's actually really unique, maybe someone will buy her for a pretty coin." William said while chewing some more on the meat. It was making Olivia's mouth water and her body yearn.
"Actually I've been looking for someone to help me with my gardens and my mice problem." She said and then looked at the other two men. "How much?" She crosses her arms.
"I'll give er for nothin' on one condition." He stepped closer causing the smell to infiltrate her nose making her shiver. "If you let me have a taste." He said looking at her up and down. Her insides felt rotten. She did not want to even touch his hands, he was disgusting. His brown hair was greasy and a mess, and his hands were covered in dirt. His clothes seemed to be kept clean but not his body.
"How much." She repeated and he clicked his tongue in disappointment. She was not a whore.
"Six platinum" He frowned and she smiled.
"Of course, I can always appreciate a reasonable soul." She said then grabbed the payment for him and he tossed the girl at her feet.
"She's full of fire, have fun." He and his boys walked away. She picked up the girl and smiled.
"Don't worry I'm not going to hurt you. I saw what they were doing." Olivia spoke softly and took off her hat exposing her ears making the small girls eyes widen.
"Y-Your Majesty!" She exclaimed and Olivia blushed. There were three kinds of races that ruled over the rest. The bears, the lions, and the wolves. They kept nature at balance and the others were there to keep nature going and to follow their rules.
"I'm Olivia what is your name?" She asked and the girl shuffled her feet.
"My name is Solar."
