Summers spent at the villa were the most peaceful moments of my life.
I remember spending countless hours basking underneath the warm, and heated sun that shined down on the transparent waters of the river near our villa.
It was an escape from reality, and six long-awaited weeks spent reading, writing, and transcribing music. I could finally doze off during work with no consequences, and no one was there to bother me, not even my Mother or my Grandfather would be there to criticize me for being lazy or not doing the house chores.
My dad would often come here to detach himself from the rest of his endless problems, and it would be the most soothing experience because no one was there to bother him. It was just him, the sun, and his vast mind that never let him rest. If only he was here with me, could this experience have been more enjoyable. Life would have been less difficult with him.
Not having to deal with Ma's paranoia could have been better for my well-being. However, such fantasies did not exist around here.
And as the Sun began to sent over the mountains, it was time for me to begin a new day.
Hopefully, a better one.
