"Welcome back Yue!" Xiao Ching hugged her. I heard you had an accident. Are you all right?"Yue smiled. "I'm good. Thanks for relieving my work while I'm gone. Was everything okay at the office?"
"Busy but we are good. Oh, by the way, your flight ticket to Chengdu is on your table. It's 2 weeks from now so Ying-jie asked me to get you ready."
"Chengdu?"
"Yes, Leshan, Chengdu. Didi-ge's hometown. He has a SUPER magazine "Homecoming II" shoot there. He had also requested to extend 2 days to visit his family."
Yue stiffened. The last time they travelled together, Shang Yan took their photos. What if they get caught again? Yue had that uneasy feeling. Why didn't he tell her?
"Is Wang He Di at the office today?" she asked.
"He said he will drop by in the afternoon." Xiao Ching said.
"Thanks, I will have a word with him."
Yue messaged him.
Meet me at the staff cafe when you are back. Urgent.
Okay! Welcome back!
For the rest of the morning, she busied herself with updates and follow-ups with Dylan's sponsors and event organizers. Soon, it was lunch and she felt hungry. Dylan should be here any moment.
Upon arriving at the cafe, she met Jia Qi. "Yue, you look good today. How is your first day of work?"
Yue smiled. "Disoriented. But I'm glad to be back. At least I can keep my mind occupied."
Jia Qi nudged her close. "Didi is so attentive to you, Yue. I can't imagine he is this type of guy. I mean he always look playful and immature to me."
Yue laughed. "He still is. But yeah, he surprises me."
She stopped and suddenly had a thought came by her. "Jia Qi, how is the investigation of Ah Peng? Any clues?"
"None so far. We can't approach him directly- he will say no. I'm going to try to snoop in his phone or laptop."
"Maybe we should blackmail him like how Shang Yan did to me. Hold his kitty as ransom or something," Yue joked. Jia Qi's eyes widened. "Jia Qi! I'm just joking!"
Jia grinned. "It's not a bad plan actually. I will text Kuan later. He has an idea." Her eyes moved past her. "Are you expecting Didi?"
Yue looked up and saw Dylan waving at them. He came fresh from his endorsement event, which explained the make up and styled up hair. He was looking at her that way again. Like she was the only person in the room and that was all it mattered. Yue felt her heartbeat twice as fast.
"Hi Yue, Jia Qi. Yue, you wanna see me?" He smiled. Yue nodded his head. Jia Qi got up "I'm going to finish my coffee before heading up." She took a seat at the table behind them.
"Shall we go for a walk?" Yue asked.
"Sure." He reached out for her arm and then stopped himself. Yue saw it and shook slightly. He put his hand inside his pocket instead. "Let's go."
One of their office building features was a garden next to the staff cafe. They walked in silence till they reached the green path.
"This reminds me of Hualien," Dylan started. Yue smiled. "I missed Hualien. Do you think we will go there again?"
"I will bring you back if you want to. We owe it to Grandpa Han." Dylan grinned.
Yue stopped in her tracks. "Didi I don't think I should travel with you anymore. I don't even know if I should be your assistant." She looked down and shifted her feet.
