Screams of pain could be heard throughout the medical bay could be heard, as a pregnant woman was fighting to give birth to her child. Three individuals (one of which was wearing a set of armor) stood outside and to the side of the medical bay as they watched the woman going through her labor, and a fourth individual who was helping her, struggle in the labors of childbirth; Clone Commander Cody (who was wearing the orange-colored armor), Senator Bail Organa of Alderaan, Jedi Grand Master Yoda, and Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi. Out of the group of five, only four were human (of which the woman in labor was), and the fourth was a small green life form. The woman, Padme Amidala, screamed as she pushed again, the pain that she was going through unbearable.

"Hold on Padme," Obi-Wan said, as he held her hand in one of his, and used the other one to rub her forehead. "You can do this."

Padme cried as she finished one push, panting heavily as she prepared herself for another push. The pain she was going through was keeping her mind off the betrayal of her husband: Anakin Skywalker. Padme served as the senator of the planet Naboo, in the Galactic Republic, during the conflict known as the Clone Wars. Anakin, a Jedi Knight just as Obi-Wan was, served as a general in the Grand Army of the Republic, which was comprised completely of clone troopers. The leader of the Republic, Supreme Chancellor Sheev Palpatine, was secretly a Sith Lord who managed to corrupt Anakin and turned him to the Dark Side of the Force.

When Obi-Wan came to her in her apartment and told her of how he saw a recording on the Jedi Temple security system of Anakin killing Jedi younglings, Padme refused to believe it. Padme even traveled to Mustafar, hoping to find out the truth, and if possible, help Anakin to turn back to the light; but sadly that didn't pan out. When Anakin saw Obi-Wan standing on the ramp of Padme's ship, he accused her of betraying him, and bringing Obi-Wan to kill him, and reached out through the Force to choke her. Padme pleaded with Anakin to release her, as did Obi-Wan, and fortunately, Anakin did release her; though she did slip into unconsciousness, as she fell to the ground.

The next thing Padme knew, she was in a medical facility on Polis Mossa, with Obi-Wan by her side, telling her that she would have to get ready to give birth to her babies. That threw Padme for a loop, as she believed that she would only have one child, but Instead according to Obi-Wan, she was going to give birth to twins. Since then, she has been in a laborious struggle to bring her children into the Galaxy; she just wished that it wasn't a Galaxy that was now under the control of the Sith, with her husband, the father of her children, being one of them. Very soon though, her efforts were repaid with the sound of an infant crying, as the first of her twins were born. She watched as the newborn was handed over into Obi-Wan's arms, as the auburn-haired Jedi Master gently and carefully held the fragile life form in his arms, and brought the child over to Padme so that she could see her first child.

"It's a boy." He said to her, holding her newborn son close to her.

Padme reached out to stroke the side of her son's face, listening to him as he cooed in Obi-Wan's arms.

"Luke," She said, giving her son his name, taking note of similarities between her and Anakin in her young infant son; such as the peach fuzz of blond hair on his head, and her nose. "Oh, Luke."

Padme listened as the nurse droid spoke in the Polis Mossan language, as she prepared to give birth to her second child, and screamed as she pushed. Fortunately for Padme, she didn't have to struggle with her second child as much as she did with Luke when she felt her second child come out of her body, and be held by the nurse droid. She noticed that while Luke possessed blond hair, the second child had her brown hair.
