(Your POV)

The movie was coming close to an end and I was dozing off. Then I heard the ding of the oven and sat up. "I'll go help Finn with the cakes," I yawned and the half of the group that was awake nodded and I climbed the stairs slowly to the kitchen.

I heard him whispering to himself, clearly frustrated. "What the f*ck is buttercream?" I heard him complain. I giggled. "It's frosting, Silly."
He turned and looked at me with a small smile. He didn't seem happy though... I wanted to make him happy. We took out the cakes and we started making the buttercream.
"Oo! Oo! Blue!" I squealed when I found the food coloring. I squirted in maybe a little bit too much to the cream and mixed it up while Finn watched quietly. He looked calm now. Like he was about to fall asleep. I looked up at him. His eyes illuminated from the dim oven. They shone with a piercing brown stare.
"This cake is gonna be fire as f*ck."
I looked back to the bowl and stirred up the cream, mixing in the vibrant blue.

After we frosted the first layer, we tried to stack the second layer onto it, but we failed pretty bad. The second layer split in half and dropped to the table.
"Uh oh!" I said as I scrambled to piece together the cake. Finn just laughed and brought the bowl of frosting over. "It's fine, all it means is that we're gonna have to perform surgery." He held up a knife and acted all serious. Finn dipped the knife in the cream and smothered the edges of the cake, then plastered it onto the first layer.
"Volià!" He then said in a french accent. I giggled and retrieved the box of froot loop cereal. "Ooo my favorite part!" He exclaimed, then took the box from my hands, sprinkling the colorful circle cereal onto the cake. I watched him carefully drop each piece onto the frosting. I rubbed my tired eyes and covered my yawn with my sleeve.

"Don't tell me you're getting to tired now! We gotta eat this cake!" He exclaimed. He pulled out his phone and took a picture of our beautiful creation. I decided to text Luke and show him the cake too.

Finn slightly looked over my shoulder and asked, "Ooo who are you texting?" In a teasing tone. I laughed and explained: "My boyfriend Luke. I haven't texted him all day. I kinda forgot..." I feel so guilty. I feel like I completely ignored him all day.

"Boyfriend?" Finn accused. He looked at me with a weird look and kept one eye brow arched. I nodded and admired the cake. "Okay I'm getting tired so let's grab the gang and eat this cake!" I smiled. His stern look kept but then slowly faded to a small smile.

-next morning

I woke up in the soft bed in the guest room with my mom beside me in the small bed. She was still asleep but I decided to get up and get ready for the day. Slowly creaking the door open, I peered out to the silent hallway and the dimly lit living room. It seemed like I was the only one awake, but I still went to the kitchen to grab another slice of cake. It was seriously bom though.

I tippy toed into the tiled kitchen and retrieved a piece and a fork. I quietly ate at the kitchen table, dozing off out of focus. "Y/n?" I heard a voice whisper. Grace sat by me at the table and said, "Whatcha doin'?" I blushed and confessed: "I just had to have another slice of this cake." She laughed and I asked her why she was already awake. I glanced at the microwave's clock. 5:12

"I dunno I was just thinking and stuff. Came up with some new tunes though, I'll have to show you and the guys later," She sad as she tapped her fingers on the wooden table. She laughed and then said, "It's also sad because you're my guest but the boys can't seem to spend time without you." I laughed and shook my head, "No! I'm just glad I at least made some friends. I didn't have many of those back home." She frowned and then joked, "While these kids may be good friends, they're terribly immature." We laughed again and she got up to get a small piece of the blue cake.
"Are there froot loops on this?" She asked while she examined the piece. I nodded proudly and we continued to chat.
