"Well it's too bad you can't get past the radiation shield."
"Oh that's what the EMP is for. Checkmate bitch."
Waiting in the fields my nerves are on edge. We get one shot to take this shield out and get all our friends through in one piece. If we fail I'm not so sure we're going to get a second chance. Clarke sure won't. "There she is", Echo identifies from the shrubs opposite of where Bellamy and I lurk. Placing down the apple I'd been nervously munching on I glance down to see Emori sprinting our way. The EMP she's created with Ryker seems to consist of two components both flying in the air as Emori sprints right past us. When we step out to meet her, Echo snaps "Hold!" Furrowing my eyebrows I go to snap back at Echo that we need to move before I hear what she has. An engine. It's throaty and deep, reminding me of the sound made when I'd check the Dropship thrusters on the Ark.
Pushing aside the nostalgia I peer down the shrubs was not five feet away to Emori who's stood before Murphy and Josephine. Dismounting the bike I have to force myself not to gawk over, Murphy tosses his helmet aside with an irked expression "Emori what are you doing?" Advancing, Murphy tells her "Let's go back. Be immortals." Josephine mutters something to Murphy, both exchanging a few curt words I can't make out before he's turning back to Emori "I love you. I know this is hard but Clarke was willing to put you in an oven. Remember that?"
"Oh John", Emori breathes out and for a second I think she's going to ditch the plan. I want to trust her but in all fairness I know her as well as I know Echo which isn't that much. All I can do put faith in Bellamy and his trust in her which is rightfully placed when I hear Emori apologetically say "I'm so sorry it had to be like this."
Not at all understanding, Murphy confusingly asks "Like what? Emori nothing needs to change. We can go back right now. I told her not to tell the guards about any of this."
Following Bellamy's lead, the three of us step out of the bushes. Flanking Bellamy with Echo we're ready to back up Emori when Bellamy calls over "That's what we were counting on." As we approach I see Murphy's expression flatten. He's clearly not expected Emori to side us with this. I'll admit as the backstabs just keep on coming from Murphy I'm beginning to question the friendship I've got with him. He knows Clarke is still in there and still he wants to wipe her away for this stupid notion of immortality. Just seeing his taken aback fleeting eyes I want to punch Murphy into next Wednesday for choosing the survivors move instead of his friends. His family.
