My friend and I were walking along 3rd Street Promenade on a hot summers day. I looked to my right to see my friend having her own little dance party.
"Who are you listening to?" I asked my friend. Her blonde hair was flying everywhere, her head bopping up and down.
"Boom Boom by Justice Crew - they're this AWESOME dance crew from Australia! They turned into a man band and oh my goodness they are so gorgeous!" She sighed. Tarsha was my best friend, she was 20 - one year older than me, but I swear she acts like a thirteen year old. Everytime there's a new boy group, she's "in love" with them. Last year it was The Wanted, six months ago it was One Direction and now it's Justice Crew.
"They're Australian hey? That's why I've never heard of them!" I laughed. I'm Aimee, I'm 19 and I live in Los Angeles, California! I met Tarsha when she moved into my apartment 2 years ago. She decided to take a gap year because "university wasn't her calling". We clicked instantly and became the best of friends. Now we're both conquering America together.
"You need to check them out! Apparently they're coming over here! You need to be in the loop Aims, you're always in the loop." Tarsha yelled over the music blaring in her ears. I took one of her headphones and stuck it into my ear.
"Calling all sexy girls all around the world," I rolled my eyes. Just another generic pop group! He had an alright voice though, it almost sounded... hot! I gave her back the headphone and she gave me a look.
"What, you don't like them?" Tarsha asked me.
"They're alright I guess, I've heard better." I shrugged.
"Well, you're gonna have to put up with me for the week that they come!" Tarsha laughed. She danced infront of me, moving her hips to the beat. I laughed back as she pulled me along the sidewalk. We arrived at our apartment and I opened the door. Tarsha threw herself on the couch.
"That was quite a workout! You have to come with me to the Justice Crew meet and greet okay? I haven't heard an aussie accent in MONTHS okay! I'M DYING." Tarsha pleaded.
"Fine, I'll go with you... on one condition." I raised my eyebrows at her.
"What?! I'll do ANYTHING," Tarsha leapt up like a puppy dog.
"You have to come with me when I go on my ski trip to Aspen." I raised my eyebrow at her. I knew how much she hated skiing. Don't ask me why.
"But... but... you know how much I hate skiing!" Tarsha folded her arms. I swear I acted like the older one out of the two of us. I just stood there smiling, knowing she'd give in.
"FINE. I'LL GO. Only to keep you company, I'm not skiing." Tarsha scoffed.
"Good! Now educate me. I don't want to look stupid when I meet Justice Crew." I at least wanted to know their names.
"Okay, hold on a second!" Tarsha sprinted to her room and I heard the sound of a poster being pulled off the wall. Oh boy.
"OKAY!" She hung up a poster on the wall we were facing.
"This is John, and this is his twin brother Len. John's more outgoing than Len is, but Len's shyness is so cute. This is Paulie - he's so adorable. He likes food and crispy m&m's, I've always wanted to try them... Anyway, this is Emmanuel - he has a smile that lights up the room, oh my goodness he has the biggest smile you will ever see on this planet. Then there's Solo, he's so cool, he's got this mysterious about him that's so hot. Then there's Lukas - he's so strong! And he's so nice and genuine. Then last of all, Samson - he's the oldest in the crew, he has the most gigantic muscles like ever and he's really really nice." Tarsha ran me through all of the members. Just when I thought she was done she started babbling at how successful they were, all their singles, blah blah blah. I wasn't really paying attention to her.
I was just staring at the one guy she described to me...
