The Hobbit and the dwarf let (y/n) sleep. Bilbo had had a presentiment that she was far more exhausted than himself, but his exhaustion had vanished after he had seen Thorin. After a while, Bilbo came up with something.
"If... if you could survive... What is with Fíli...", Thorin shook his head sadly, "And Kili?" Just at the moment footsteps had passed the library and had now stopped.
"What about me?" a voice Bilbo knew very well asked. He almost twisted when he turned while getting up.
"Kili!" he shouted in surprised.
"Bilbo! What are you doing here?" the brown-haired dwarf asked no less surprised. Thorin's eyes flashed.
"He's right, why are you here? You can barely have been home and must have turned back immediately to come here."
"I..." Bilbo sighed. "The Hobbits had declared me dead and I would have had to prove that I was really me, with something with my name on it... And all I had was the contract... But it must have fallen out of my pocket, so... I couldn't prove that I'm not dead." Kili looked at him in confusion.
"How is that even possible?" Bilbo waved.
"Hobbits are strange people. But the most important thing is, that I realised, that the shire wasn't my real home anymore. My home is with you, I guess. You're my friends. I wanted to ask if I could stay here, even though I'm no dwarf." Thorin's eyes widened a little.
"Of course you can stay! You helped reconquer the Erebor!" The little Hobbit smiled gratefully and turned his gaze back to Kili.
"And how did you survive?"
"Uh... well... This Orc... Bolg... he so to say stabbed me, but... Thorin had... he had a second Mithrilshirt... and gave it to me, shortly before we went into battle. Fíli... he... he didn't wanted it..." his voice had become all quiet and his face showed the expression of pain. The dwarf missed his brother really hard, but he had to tell himself that the Mithrilshirt wouldn't have saved Fíli. Otherwise he would give himself the fault of his brothers death. It was nearly one year ago that the battle of the five army's had been, but Kili hadn't been able to cry yet. He hadn't processed the death of his brother enough to fully realise it. The little Hobbit went to the dwarf and hugged him. With that he managed it to make Kili smile again and he sat beneath Bilbo and Thorin. From time to time his eyes touched (y/n)'s face.
The next morning the dwarf-girl woke up on the couch. Someone had put a blanket on her. Bilbo and Thorin weren't in the library anymore, instead there was another dwarf. A dwarf with dark brown hair and brown eyes. Already after this first look (y/n) thought that this dwarf was quite handsome. When he saw that she had opened her eyes he stood up and left. The girl looked at him a little disappointed, but he came back only short time after with a tray of food, he had brought from the kitchen. When he put the tray down he smiled and winked. This smile was just so adorable. There was no other word for it. Automatically (y/n) smiled in return and thanked him quietly, before she started eating.
