An owl screeched as it landed on Alex. "Five more minutes." Alex groaned thinking that the owl was her friend trying to wake her up. Her friend shot up. "Um, Alex. That wasn't me." " Huh?" Alex mumbled sitting up sleepily. She saw the owl and let out a yelp. "How did it get in?"Alex said loudly. "Why should I know!" her friend said. " I don't know" Alex said. " Look it has a something attached to its leg." Her friend untied the letters. She handed one letter to Alex and opened hers. She read hers aloud. It said:
Hogwarts School
of Witchcraft and Wizardry
Headmaster: Albus Dumbledore
Dear Ms.Birch,
We are pleased to inform you that you have been accepted at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Please find enclosed a list of all necessary books and equipment.
Term begins September 1st. We await your owl by no later than July 31st.

"Mine says the same thing." Alex said. "This means that we can do magic!" Cora exclaimed. Suddenly there was a knock on their door. "Come in?" Alex said confused by the fact that the person knocked instead of just walking in like their caretaker usually did. A tall man walked into the room. "Who are you?" Alex asked sitting down on her bed? Cora sat down next to her. " I'm Albus Dumbledore, " the man said," and you must be Alexandra Moon." Alex looked slightly startled that the man knew her name but she decided not to think much of it. "Do you know my name?" Cora asked. "Yes, I know your name, " he said, "your name is Cora Birch." Alex looked at her letter. "Did you say that your name is Albus Dumbledore?" Alex asked. "Yes, I did." he said calmly. "So your the headmaster of Hogwarts?" "Yes I am"he said.
