Ashlyn’s POV:

We walked in and I saw a man in a suit sat quietly with his hands clasped on the table. I guess that was Dimitri. I looked to his right and saw a guy around my age slouching in his chair with his arms folded, his son most likely. He ditched the suits blazer and had his tie hanging low. He looked like he wanted to be anywhere else but here. Well that makes two of us.

The man stood up. He glared at his son who stood up and shoved his hands in his pockets avoiding eye contact “Carlos, nice to see you” Dimitri held out his hand and dad shook it. “You must be his lovely wife” He said to mum shaking her hand. Then he turned to me. “And you must be Ashlyn. I’m Dimitri and this is my son Tyler”

“Sup” Tyler replied.

Dimitri glared at his son yet again before turning back to us and saying “I’m sorry for my sons bad manners, sometimes his inner wolf gives him a bad temper”

Tyler just rolled his eyes.

“Well anyway down to business, please have a seat”

Dad sat down with mum on his left and me on his right. Dad was sat opposite Dimitri and I was sat opposite Tyler.

“I have the papers all here ready to sign…….” I tuned out of what they were saying. This was the formal side to it that I hated. However my ears did prick up when our contract was brought into the conversation.

“Well Ashlyn here isn’t too keen on this wedding” Dad started.

“See I told you!” Tyler harshly whispered to Dimitri, although with our good hearing my parents and I heard as well.

“So….” Dad continued “She has some terms of her own” He said handing over the contract “You and Tyler sign this and we will go ahead with the wedding”

Dimitri carefully unrolled the contract and silently read it. “Hmmmm” was all he said before he handed it to Tyler.

He quickly scanned through it “Yep I’m fine with all that. I think the separate rooms thing is a good idea to” Phew! At least we’re on the same page.

Dimitri took the contract back and said “Well I’m not sure on the second one ‘The groom’s family will pay for the whole wedding, no matter the cost’”

“Well you are the one that wanted this wedding so we thought it was unfair if we had to pay for it” Dad explained reasonably.

Dimitri stared at dad. Please don’t let this turn into a fight! I begged silently. After what seemed like an eternity Dimitri sighed and said “Ok deal. Where’s the pen gone?”

I let out a breath that I didn’t even realize I was holding and looked at dad. He smiled and gave my hand a reassuring squeeze.

Dimitri and Tyler signed our contract then signed the wedding agreement and stamped it with the werewolves crest before passing them both over to us.

We had already signed our contract so dad put it back in his pocket and him and mum signed the wedding contract. He then passed it to me. I shakily took the pen and stared at the paper.

I took a deep breath and signed the paper. The vampires crest was stamped and the contract was passed back to Dimitri.

“Oh, one more thing” Dimitri said as he put the contract into his briefcase “I think Ashlyn and Tyler should get to know each other a bit better before the wedding. How about I set up a picnic for you two tomorrow lunch time?”

“Um s-sure” I said.

“Whatever” Tyler said.

“Great!” Dimitri said smiling “Here is our address and we will see you tomorrow at 12:30pm” He shook our hands again before the two of them left.

It wasn’t until then that I realized what had just happened: I had sold my soul. There was no getting out of this marriage now.
