The Girl's POV
I put my hands around him and try to find solace in the feeling of his throbbing heart.... the heart which I have grown to be fond of, the beautiful soul which gives me hope to become a better person and the warm embrace which gives me strength to believe in love.
I let out an exhausted sigh and whisper ever so lightly, "When you wake up Ananth you'll find me, for I'll always be there for you".
With a chaste kiss on his forehead I take a last look at him before drowning myself in the novel- 'The Zahir' by Paulo Coelho. A trail of tear leaves my eye and falls on my cheek.
I wonder if he'll ever know about my feelings for him or what if he rejects me after I tell him, will I be able to get over this beautiful soul then?...
Beep..Beep... My trail of thoughts come to a halt when my phone beeps with a new message. I wipe off the tears with my palm and scroll through my phone. The message reads-
Happy Birthday dear. May god bless you and may all your dreams come true. Stay happy and healthy always.
-MomIt's not the first time when I've forgotten about my birthday. I don't value such things that much. For me, my day is special when I get to spend it with my loved ones, for instance like with Ananth and... with... Adi.
Aditya! How can I forget about him? He is my best friend and is the person who has been always there for me.
As if someone just heard me because the door knob clicks open and enters my best buddy. Wait, why is he looking so different?
The Adi that I know will never come at this hour, for he knows I like to spend my time alone with Ananth.
Aditya looks deeply into my eyes and says....
Ananth's POV
This was bound to happen... The day I met this girl; she was lost, confused and a messed up soul. I wasn't interested in her but as the days passed by, I realised that somehow her twisted humour has attracted me.
After she saved my life, I never thought that she'll stay and take care of me.
Every day after listening to all her wishes, thoughts, daily chores and her feelings for me, involuntarily I've grown attached to her. I feel sad when she doubts my love for her beacuse all I ever wanna say to her when I wake up is-
"You are beautiful."
I hear a man say the exact words that I long to say to my girl and my heart breaks in a thousand pieces.
The Girl's POV
I'm stunned and speechless. Before I can answer anything, I look back at Ananth as I feel something prick in my heart.
It's so ironic Ananth, don't you think? how you do nothing yet make me feel thousands of things!
