Part 37 : THEY

Skyler's pov

"I-I don't understand"

"You don't need to understand just yet my child. We need to get the crowns before Daniel does. I can feel him. He's close" She said.

I reluctantly nodded. "But how do w-" before I could finish my sentence.

I felt myself lift off the ground and through the opening of the cave.
Instead of going back to where we started Khione lead us to the other side where I could see a rather impatient Jack waiting.

As soon as we landed then the three boys noticed our presence. "Uh...hi" I said awkwardly.

Jack ran to me and hugged me so tight I couldn't even breathe. Instead of telling him though I let him suffocate me.

"I was so worried" He whispered. I smiled. "I'm okay" I reassured him

"Who are you" Brady hissed. I followed his line of sight and saw that he was throwing daggers at Khione who seemed unfazed with Brady's rudeness.

Jack pulled me closer to him and stared down Khione suspiciously. She merely just looked at Jack but I didn't miss the hint of a smile taking its place.

"Jack of Riftus. I've heard a lot about you" She said. I wanted to ask how she heard about him since Jack is only 17 and she's been locked up here for 20 yrs so......

As if she read my thoughts she answered. "Even nature talks" was all she said.

"Who are you" Brady repeated his question. Khione simply rolled her eyes. "How many times will I have to do this introduction"

I bit back a laugh. "I'm Khione..the-"
"-Goddess of Snow" Mike finished staring at her with wide eyes.

"Then that means...you're the Rightful Queen of Krystel" He added.

Then he looked at me. Then looked back at Khione. "She's your-"
"Enough!" A booming voice erupted out of nowhere.

We all looked behind us. And there stood none other than King Daniel himself. He had about at least 20 guards following behind him.

I spotted my vampire friend amongst them. He looked at me apologetically telling me that he did indeed try to stall them.

I nodded in his direction telling him it was okay.

"Oh hey K.D what took you so long. The back ain't working like it used to?" Mike joked. I swear this guy.

King Daniel's face turned blood red. "You're fools for sitting around and talking. Playing the fool and having fun." He said fun like it was poison.

"Now that I found you. You're dead" He smirked. "Dad-" "SHUT UP!" He cut off his son. I stared at Michael and for the first time I actually saw regret in his eyes.

He didn't want to kidnap me.
He never wanted this.
He made a mistake that he's dad put him up to.
He never meant for this to happen.

His eyes met mine. And he silently asked for forgiveness. And to his surprise I gave him a small smile and nodded.

I forgive you Michael.

"Watch out!" I heard Michael scream. Just as I turned my head I saw a sword flying straight at me. But before it could hit me it was covered in ice and it shattered.

Khione appeared from the bushes. Wow I didn't even notice she was gone. She sneered at King Daniel and took a protective stance in front of me.

King Daniels eyes widened. "It can't be!" He said like he had seen a ghost. "NO no no you're dead" He said more to himself really.
