Fridays. Almost everyone's favorite day of the week. Whether you get out of school on Friday or finish work, everyone loves Friday. Especially Kara Danvers. Her day was going great. She had finished two articles for CatCo and had stopped multiple robberies all across town. To say she was happy was a complete understatement. She was in a chipper mood, bouncing around the office, with a goofy smile glued on her face. Kara had been planning the perfect dinner for her and her girlfriend, Lena all week for later that night. Nothing could possibly ruin her day.
Kara closed the door of her apartment and sighed in exhaustion. She had carried an enormous bag of Noonan's, with the glorious smell of potstickers, distracting her. It was like her second kryptonite. Kara plopped the bag on the counter, while tossing her keys beside it. She checked her watch. Almost 6:30.
Lena should be here soon. Kara thought to herself. In the next few minutes or so, Kara was busy speeding around the apartment, cleaning everything and making it look neat. She really was looking forward to her and Lena's one year anniversary and she wanted it to be perfect. Kara set up the table then put the take out in the oven to keep it warm for the time being. Impatiently, she checked her watch again. She still had plenty of time to spare, so she went into the bathroom and freshened up a bit. She applied some more lipstick and looked in the mirror, studying her clothes. She was wearing black jeans that hugged Kara's hips perfectly and a burgundy sweater. She stared herself down in the mirror, not sure weather to change or not. The outfit wasn't too fancy, or too casual.
That's when Kara's thoughts were interrupted by a loud knock, which startled Kara, making her jump a little. She used her x-ray vision and saw that it was only Lena. That made her heart rate increase and a smile pulled at Kara's lips. She was so excited, but she was also super nervous-even more nervous than when she told Lena about being Supergirl. Lena was so understanding and at that moment, they both ended up confessing to each other their obvious feelings for one another. (With the little push from Alex and Maggie). They've been happily together since. And about two months ago, Kara asked Lena to move in with her, so the two decided to move into Kara's apartment, since Lena found it much more homey.
Kara sped to the door and opened it with a grin plastered on her face. "Lena! Finally, you're back from work." Kara's gaze slowly went down to the takeout bag in Lena's arms and she frowned.
Lena also frowned and raised an eyebrow in confusion. "Love, what's wrong?"
Kara leaned in the doorway, arms folded and smiled again, giggling. "I got us Noonans too...B-But it's ok since ya'know I'm an alien and all, so it's not really a problem. We'll just have leftovers tomorrow night. And it's our anniversary and I really didn't want you to do too much 'cause I wanted everything to be set for when you got home. It's just the fact that my metabolism ya know and-and all this food...Is it too much? Am I too much? I know you're like a billionaire, but I don't want to be a burden with all of my food needs." Lena smirked at Kara's obvious rambling. "I-I'm sorry. I'm rambling again aren't I?"
Lena chuckled and leaned towards Kara, giving her a light peck on the lips. "It's alright, I find it quite cute. And of course, your not too much. I love you no matter how much food we have to buy for your enormous stomach. Now, if you'd help me with the food please."
Kara beamed at Lena and assisted her with the huge bag of food, bringing it into the kitchen.
The couple, ate their food in peace, making some small talk about their day and laughing at Kara's silliness. Everything was perfect in Lena's eyes, but to Kara, she wanted it to be more.
Lena lied on the couch with her eyes closed, listening to the noises of Kara moving around the kitchen. Kara was washing the dishes and throwing away the remaining trash from dinner. She brushed her hands off on a towel and shuffled into the living room, sitting beside Lena on the couch. Kara embraced Lena, resting her head on top of Lena's and wrapping her arms around her tightly. The two sat in silence for a few moments, while Kara listened to the steady beat of Lena's heart.
Finally, Lena opened her eyes and faced Kara. "I'm so happy we made this work."
Kara grinned in response and leaned forward. "Me too. After I told you I was Supergirl, I was so worried you'd leave me. I just wanted everything to stay the same. I didn't want to be Kara Zor-El or Kara Danvers. I only wanted to be Kara, just Kara. And with you, I could do that. Now, I'm actually quite glad things are different. I wouldn't want them to be any other way."
Lena leaned in, closing the distance between them and melting her lips with Kara's. The kiss started off soft but slowly got more intense, as Lena's hands began to roam Kara's muscular body. Lena bit Kara's bottom lip, asking for entrance. She slid her tongue in Kara's mouth, starting a battle for dominance and making someone let out a soft moan. Neither was quite sure who made the noise, but it only seemed to fuel the sexual tension between them. Lena won and the next thing they knew, she was straddling over Kara on the couch.
The two continued to make out on the couch for a while until they were interrupted by Kara's phone ringing. Lena groaned, annoyed as Kara pulled away and answered the call with a frustrated expression on her face. "Hello?"
"Kara, we need Supergirl downtown. There's a gang of thugs with possible alien weapons being used." Alex responded hastily on the other side of the phone.
Kara rolled her eyes and looked at Lena frowning. "Yeah, I'll be there. It's not like it's me and Lena's anniversary or anything and we were having... um, dinner..?"
Lena raised her eyebrows at Kara, a smirk tugging at her lips. "I'm your dinner?" She said in a sultry voice.
Kara stifled a laugh as Alex choked on the other side of the phone in realization. "Uh...ew guys! I don't wanna hear about my little sisters sex life. Just..hurry up and maybe you can make it back in time for your..whatever the hell you two were doing."
Kara's face went beet red and she immediately hung up the phone, before anymore scarring words would be said. Kara looked down at Lena and kissed her on the head, before carefully climbing off the couch.
"I will be back in a minute, I promise." Lena smiled sweetly, while the superhero prepared to go up, up and away. Kara ripped opened her shirt to reveal her super suit until it dawned on her that she wasn't wearing her suit.
Lena burst out laughing at Kara, who had her shirt ripped open, revealing a baby blue bra underneath her sweater. Embarrassed, Kara's face flushed red and she sped into the bedroom, in search of the famous supergirl suit. Wind passed by Lena, multiple times around the apartment, as Kara whooshed around in every nook and cranny. Lena on the other hand, was casually scrolling through her phone. Kara began to panic. Her suit was nowhere to be found.
From the couple's bedroom, Kara shouted back to Lena, "honey, where's my super suit?"
Lena bit her tongue, holding back a fit of laughter and responded as calmly as possible. "What, darling?"
Kara rubbed the bridge of her nose slightly frustrated with the situation at hand. "Where. Is. My super suit."
"I-uh.." Lena giggled quietly then recomposed herself. "Put it away."
"Uhh where?" Kara questioned, now walking back into the living room, leaning against the doorframe and carefully eyeing Lena.
Lena raised her eyebrows, slightly smirking. "Why do you need to know?"
Kara lifted her arms up, gesturing towards the window, eyes wide and confusion, clearly plastered on her face. "The public is in danger!"
Lena stood up from the couch and folded her arms. "My evening is in danger! It's our damn anniversary, Kara."
She moved towards Lena, placing her arms on her shoulders softly. "Lena, honey. We're talking about the greater good. People need saving."
Lena turned her head away and tried to make the best pout she could. "Well, my anniversary needs saving. Things were just getting good too...Why can't the police handle it? It's just a robbery..."
"Lena, I promise I'll come back and we can do whatever you want the rest of the night. My treat since it's our anniversary." She smiled at Lena, who tried to frown but ended up grinning back, eyes rolled and digging in her pocket for the nanobot super suit; placing it in Kara's hand.
"Thank you! I promise I'll back in a few minutes." She quickly pecked Lena on the cheek before putting on the suit and flying off in the sky. Lena couldn't help but smile as she watched her girlfriend fly off in the evening sky. "Go, get 'em Supergirl."*Hey guys! I finally made a one shot book! Now I'm currently writing three books at once, hurray! 😂 😅 So I've gotten a new phone and have been working on a Supercorp story as well as Never Underestimate which are coming along slowly but surely. So this particular one shot isn't really an AU or anything, but this one shot book will have some AUs, some fluff, definitely some angst here and there and of course some superfamily one shots. I'm always open for ideas so DM me if you want. Anyways hope you enjoyed, make sure to vote on the story and comment! Adios!*
