My unusual?

I pushed open the door to Flat White, the coffee shop on the corner of my street and shut it quckily as a gust of wind blew up stray paper napkins of the table. It was bucketing with rain outside, stereotypical weather for London I suppose. I shook out my umbrella and stood it against the bookshelf and shrugged off my navy blue coat before hanging it up on the coat hanger. My boots were soaked and the tips of my long brown hair had started to curl.

"Hey Ivy! I was wondering when you'd come in today!" Berni, the owner of the cafe said with a smile. He was sitting on one of the leather couches reading a book, his gray black hair standing up in all directions and his blue shirt creased from a days work.

"Yeah, the studio was crazy busy! We had five different clients booked for shoots today, I'm exshausted!" I said, taking off my beanie and taking a seat at my usual chair by the window. I pulled out my MacBook Pro and switched it on.

"Do ya want your normal then Ivy?" Pippa, one of the daily waitresses asked while I drummed my fingers on the table. Her strong Irish accent never failed to make me smile, seeing as though I wasn't from London, and even after 4 years here since we moved from California when I was 15, I still wasn't used to hearing it.

"That would be great, thanks Pip." I smiled warmly at her and soaked up the heat of the shop and inhaled the smell of fresh coffee and chocolate pastries. I scrolled through the pictures I'd taken today and listened to Berni and Pippa laughing over an inside joke. My iPhone buzzed and I picked it up to see a message from my dad.

-V, darling. Your mum said I must tell U not 2 be 2 late tonight! Gran is coming 4 tea round 7! Be there or face the rath of da dragon grrrr! xx -

I giggled at the cringy text language he always uses and glanced at the time now, 5.15pm it gave me a good hour and a half to potter around town for a little longer. I hummed along to The Smiths playing quitely from the old stereo on the counter. Pippa brought me my Capaccino and giant choc chip cookie. I thanked her and sipped it slowly, lost in my own thoughts. I was interrupted by the door opening again and my paperwork flying everywhere.

I cursed a little too loudly and dropped to floor to collect it all.

"I am so sorry I didn't think the wind was that strong! Let me help you!" I deep voice above me said, sounding sheepish. The stranger bent down beside me and I looked up to find myself suddenly stunned at the intense green eyes staring back at me.
