jimin pressed their foreheads together, a soft smile adorning his lips, while cupping his cheeks. "you're beautiful, taehyung-ah. so, so beautiful." he felt the shake of his head and only smiled wider. "would i lie to you?" he promoted teasingly. "hm? would i?"

taehyung swallowed thickly and croaked out a quiet, "no." another stream of endless tears rolled down his cheeks painstakingly slow. they left a burning trail even after jimin wiped them away.

he wasn't supposed to cry. angels didn't cry.

"even when you cry you're so beautiful, did you know that?" taehyung choked on a sob. "you always take my breath away when i look at you."

he shook his head, another wave of tears following. "because i'm ugly." his heart hurt, burned once the words left his mouth. angels weren't supposed to cry. "i'm-i'm broken and disgusting. i'm disgusting, jimin-ah." he looked up and tried meeting jimin's gaze through the gloss. "how can- why aren't you disgusted by me? i'm so ugly."

"because you're not, you are so beautiful." his hands fell from his cheeks to grab the younger boys wrists and pull him forward. taehyung collapsed into his arms, as they sat on the floor, like he belonged there. jimin held him tightly, gathering all the positive energy he could.

"i'm sorry." he sobbed. "i'm sorry i'm like this, i'm sorry, i'm so sorry."

if jimin was able to cry, he's sure he'd be crying harder than taehyung. instead, he whispered sweet words against the soft of his skin, confessed his love over and over for him just like he had centuries ago, and told him just how beautiful he was.

and when there were no more things left to say and no more tears left to cry, jimin kissed him. taehyung whimpered quietly while clinging to him as though he was going to disappear. the kiss said everything they couldn't say in words.

"are you tired?" wordlessly, taehyung nodded and felt himself being lifted. jimin brought them to their shared bedroom and laid him on the bed. after getting in bed next to him, taehyung shifted around so jimin could hold him again. it promoted a small smile on his face. his baby.

"i love you." jimin hated the way he said it, as if he was begging jimin to say it back.

"i love you more." his hand softly skimmed the edges of his soulmates wings. he felt the younger shiver before trying to curl them tighter so jimin couldn't see them. "my love for you is only going to grow everyday." he kissed the corner of his lips gently. "no more tears, angel." the pet name ripped at taehyung's heart.

it took time, far longer than it normally did, but he was eventually lulled to sleep from the exhaustion in his bones and jimin's soft voice as he sang.

taehyung used to love going out. he was the bell of the ball, jimin liked to tease him. he was very social, not hesitating to beam a bright smile at anyone who passed by.

taehyung hated going out now. the idea of it brought great anxiety to him. they were going to stare, he knew they were going to. they did every time.

still, he swallowed the lump in his throat and buttoned up his white blouse. it felt wrong to wear. it was no different from the last time he'd put it on but it felt wrong on his skin, he felt wrong. "you look pretty, tae."

jimin gave him a soft smile in the mirror from the vanity he sat at. he smiled shyly and whispered out a quiet, "thank you."

"you did your makeup?" he didn't use to wear it before, saw no need for it. but now he wanted to cover up any part of him he could to the public. he nodded, suddenly feeling self conscious about it. "do mine?" jimin held out a makeup brush with a smile taehyung couldn't say no to.
