Half A Heart

Chapter 1

The bright light, seeping through my window woke me from my sleep.

I turned to grab my phone off my nightstand.

Light illuminated the screen and the time read: 7:52 a.m.

CRAP! Im gonna be late for school!

I jumped out of bed and dashed for the bathroom.

I attempted to brush my teeth whilst getting dressed,

which resulted in me tripping over my jeans and smacking my forehead against the corner of the sink.

"Bloody Hell!" I exclaimed.

"Harry? You okay in there?" I hear my mum on the other side of the bathroom door.

"Yea mum." I answer.

I hear her footsteps fade as get up off the floor.

I look at myself in the mirror and see there is a cut above my right eye brow.

I groan and finish getting dressed and washed my face.

By the time I get downstairs the blood has dried up.

I shove my phone in my pocket and grab my bag and keys.

"Bye mum im leaving now"

"Aren't you going to have breakfast?" My mum asked from the doorway that lead to the kitchen.

"No, I'm gonna be late" I answered.

"Okay well have fun, and make some friends."

She gave me an encouraging smile.

"Yea sure" I mumbled as I walked out the door.

I started up my car and backed out of the driveway.

First day of senior year in a new school, a new place, with new people.

I was not looking forward to this.
