Vvvvvvvvvv! Vvvvvvvvv!

The vibration of her phone woke Tabby. She grumbled and blearily looked at it. It was from her Mom. She slid the phone open, and opened the message. HAPPY 10TH BDAY!!! It exclaimed. Tabby jolted up.

"My... birthday... YES!" She leapt out of bed, and threw on her clothes she had laid out the night before. Then she dashed downstairs, whooping happily.

As soon as her feet hit the bottom if the stairs, she could smell the delicious scent of waffles. "Mmmmm..." She murmured, and strutted into the kitchen. Sophie, her little sister was pouting at the table. She looked up as Tabby strolled in, then back down again.

"What's wrong, little sis?" asked Tabby happily.

"It's not fair," Muttered Sophie.

"Um... what's not fair?" Asked Tabby, knowing the answer.

"It's not fair that you get a Pokemon adventure and I don't"! Whined Sophie. "I have like a million more years until mine!"

"Uh... more like three," Said Tabby, winked, at sat at her place.

Her Mom brought her a waffle, smothered in butter and syrup, and sang her Happy Birthday.

Tabby devoured the waffle, then stood up. "Mom," She started. "i must leave you. I'm gonna adventure!"

"I know, honey," Her Mom replied. "Just make sure to stay safe and remember I love you."

"No problem!" announced Tabby. "So... um... I go to professor Yew to get a Pokemon... right?"

"That's what I've heard," Replied Mom.

Later, at Professor Yew's, Tabby knocked on the door. It was answered a few moments later by a young man, probably the professor's assistant.

"Are you," He looked down at his list "Tabby?"

"Yep," Tabby replied, and followed him in.

They walked down the long hallway, and entered a large, sterile-looking room.

"This is Tabby," The assistant told the professor. The professor had longish brown hair the was pulled back into a very tight bun right in the middle of her head.

"Tabby..." She repeated. "You're the girl who said she liked Ice types, ghost types, flying types, amd pokemon that have two types on her form, right?"

"Yep," Tabby answeed again.

"One moment, please." The professor told her, and went into a row of bookshelf-like things.

Tabby waited anxiously. She hoped she would get a very good Pokemon. The professor came back holding a dusk ball. She handed it to Tabby. Tabby nervously tossed it into the air. It opened with a WSHHHHZZ!

A dark blue and back pokemon came whirling out. It did a couple flips, then landed neatly. It turned to face Tabby.

"A... Sneasel..." Tabby breathed.

"Yes," answered the professor. "Would you like to give it a nickname?"

"Oh, of course!" Answered Tabby. How about... Plume?"

"That's a great name," Replied the professor. Tabby smiled, and couldn't wait to start her journey.
