|Twenty Seven|

Ryu and Rui were murmuring to each other with grins spread over their faces as they were making some extremely fattening desert in the kitchen of the apartment.

I was draped over the couch, scrolling through tumblr as I always did.

Akin was sitting on the floor in front of me, back against the couch as he typed furiously on his laptop. His light green hair was pulled back into a small curled pony tail. He had a stick of strawberry pocky in his mouth as he strained to see the small wording on the screen with his blue eyes.

Akin always seemed cold hearted, still, dead. But he wasn't like that at all. Well...he was...but...I was trying to make a point but it didn't work.

"What'cha work'n on?" I asked as I craned my neck to look over his shoulder at the screen.

It was coding, which was something I couldn't ever hope to grasp the concept of. Akin was the smartest out of all of us, which from looking at us you never would of guessed.

He was a professional hacker. Half Korean half German. You never would of guessed that though either.

"Doing all the work" he said in a slight monotone as he gave me a look. "As per usual."

"Hey, I'm looking at fan art of us on tumblr" I said with pouted lips. "See, there's one of us as the characters from Tokyo Ghoul! Oh! Look! Don't I look so bada--"

"Aeshi" Akin said with a hard look. "Don't distract me."

I huffed and pulled the phone away from him, rolling my shoulders as I sat myself up.

Neulsik Akin. Born in Germany, in the Southern detention centre. His father a captive Korean assassin, his mother a German slutty gold digger. He grew up in harsh conditions, but broke out with his father when he was fifteen. Returned back to Korea where he became a hacker. Recruited by me to join Expiry Date.

He was a good friend of mine.

"I'll go annoy Jae then" I said as I stood, waltzing over to where Jae was.

Gihyung Jae-Tung. His pastel blue hair pulled back with his pastel pink eyes shining. Of course, they were inked that way. He used to have just plain grey eyes.

His thick black rimmed glasses were perched on his nose as his head was dug into a book, curled up on the window seat which looked out across the entirety of the city. He was chewing on his lip, looking relaxed.

He didn't look like it, but Jae was a professional sniper. He was slightly older than me, with an army qualification and everything. Six years in the special forces - the Korean version of the Americans Black Ops. I hadn't met anyone with as good aim as Jae-Tung.

You'd think because he was a soldier that he was righteous, heroic. But he had a dark side. He had a wife, two little girls. And they were slaughtered.

Any sort of righteousness and heroism was shattered.

And he was recruited by me.

"What'cha reading?" I grinned as I leaned against the wall beside him.

"Edgar Allen Poe" he said simply.

I bristled. "Who?"

"He's a famous writer of the macabre. He--"

"God I'm so bored already" I sighed as I then walked away from him. "Sorry Jae. But my lord."

He chuckled, knowing fully that I would be bored and walk off. He was smart like that.
