Chapter III:Pinch Me

Wow! What was that? I can't understand. I slept, but I still need to sleep, I'm still sleepy. The thought of the figure kept bugging me. Monsters? An ancient-looking hourglass and pocket mirror? A mysterious figure that kept chasing me? Well, that's a bit unusual for me to dream about that. Usually, I dream about... like... normal dreams... but... let's just say, that's a dream that I never had before. I want to sleep but-

"Hey, Ara, class is about to start." Heala interrupted.

"Ok, but I'm still sleepy."

"What did you do last night? We don't even have an activity for today."

"I had a dream-"

"I have a dream, I have a dream, yeah I want to see the floating lanterns gleam-"

"Pfft, please stop singing-"I chuckled.

"And then every passing hour. Ok, I'll stop singing. Let's just talk about it during recess."

"Okay"

Well, she's my best friend, I couldn't be mad at her. Actually, she cracked me up. I'm very lucky to have a best friend like her. She's sweet, kind, and you could see other good values in her. But-

"Class, today classes are suspended due to bad weather conditions." Ms. Rose announced.

"Excuse me Ms. Rose, but the weather was very bright, sunny, warm-"Philip interrupted.

"Do you see bright and sunny? Hmm?"Ms. Rose replied as she opens the dark and heavy curtains.

That is unusual. Weird. Philip was right. A moment ago, it was still bright and sunny... and now... it's... there's a humongous dark cloud surrounding the atmosphere. Ms. Rose opened it once more and again, there's that mysterious figure walking towards our window. Once again, I blinked my eyes and saw it was gone.
I wonder if they saw that too.

"Okay class, pack your things and go home safely. Don't ever go out while there's this storm. Keep safe."Ms. Rose said.

Weird, this day is weird, I wonder what my best friends think about this. We packed our bags and went out. While walking...

"Ara?"

"Yes, Hae?"

"Don't you think this day is weird?"

"What makes you say that?"

"Well, moments ago, it was truly bright and sunny-"

"Could you please pinch me?"

"Why? Wait, what?"

"I said, could you please pinch me?"

"You know I don't just pinch people."

"Please" I pleaded.

"Sorry to do this-"

She pinched me. It hurts. So it is REALITY. But why is the weather so weird and the mysterious figure keeps coming? I need answers.

"Ouch!"

"I'm so sorry Ara. I didn't mean to. It's just that you forced me to do it and-"

"I'm not mad Hae."

"Wait, what now?"

"Thank you for pinching me."

"Why?"

"Because you made me realize that this was reality."

"Ooh. So that is why. But about your dream... what was it about?"

I wonder if she saw the mysterious figure too. I was going to ask her when...

"What reality are you talking about? And what is this dream about?"Philip interrupted.

"Phil? Why? How? Since when did you keep eavesdropping on us?"I asked.

"Since... the whole conversation."

"Oh"

"What is your dream about?"

"Well, since you two are my best friends..."

"Just tell us. Please." Haela pleaded.

Okay, here I go. I'll tell them. Will I tell them everything? I don't know. Well, here I go then.

"Did you guys see a mysterious figure while Ms. Rose keeps opening the curtain?"

"Is that associated with your dream?"Philip asked.

"Well, yeah... did you guys see the mysterious figure? I'm just asking."

"What does it look like Ara?" Haela wondered.

"Unexplainable. It looks blurry but..."
