♥ CHAPTER 1 ♥

“Get back here right now!”

Oh the fun of being chased around a palace.

Which happened pretty much every day now.

Did they have something against me pulling pranks?

It was a normal day, if you can call being chased around a castle by your sister whose hair you dyed green while she was sleeping, normal.

It was a beautiful night, but 6pm was an early get up time for me.

Yes, pm.

I’m Siliva, a vamperic princess.

Sadly.

I didn’t want to be a creature of the night! I wanted to run about carelessly in the sun! I wanted to be free.

Well tough luck for me.

Those humans don’t know what they have! The moon gets so boring, and we can’t witness sunrise or sunset. Well, we can, but we suffer for it a hell of a lot for it. If we stood in sunlight, on a cloudy day, for even just a few minutes, we would fry, we would be redder than a tomato!

It was that bad, that hard.

Being royalty, I was always being watched, by guards, servants, and my sister.

Speaking of my sister, she was still chasing me.

I was outgoing, and LOVED to prank.

So that morning, I had decided to pull one on my sister Ren. So I dyed her gorgeous, blonde hair, to a neon green colour.

Heehee!

Well she didn’t like it.

Not one bit.

At 6pm on the dot, a shrill scream ran through the castle.

“SILIVAAAAAAAAAAAAAA”

And I am not exaggerating. I pretended to be sleeping as she kicked down my door. Well that was more than a little rude.

“WHAT. Did you do?!?”

Her eyes shone a bright red in the dark night.

I had meant to prank her, but not, anger her this much…

“Funny story Ren…” I replied anxiously.

“Well my darling sister “She said with a sadistic grin growing on her petite face “I have an eternity to listen, so EXPLAIN.”

So maybe she was a little angry at me. She had never understood my love of pranking people!

She leaped onto me as I scrambled out of bed, and she went headfirst into the wall, despite my fear, I couldn’t help but snigger at the sight of the usually calm princess.

“YOU BRAT!” She yelled, as her eyes alternated between red and black.

I was dead meat.

I ran out of the room, that was the only good thing about this, I was extremely fast. If you think an ordinary vampire is fast, then you’ll be in shock with my speed!

She was catching up though, her anger pushing her faster, so I ran into mother’s room, and screamed, wanting protection from this beast of fury I had created.

Mother was in front of me in a flash, looking concerned, thinking I had hurt myself or someone else. It was annoying how she was so overprotective of me and Ren!

At that second, Ren burst into the room, her eyes murderous, wanting me to die for my crime. Then I hid. Behind mother. She couldn’t get me there. But she tried, and the last thing I saw was her eyes, the uncontrollable bloodlust that was so unlike her, and those long, scarlet painted claws, pointed at my face, ready to scratch.

My legs were rooted to the spot, I could not move, I felt absolutely frozen, and shocked.

“ENOUGH!”

The shrill command ran throughout the halls of the castle, and could probably be heard from the gardens. How could she shout so loudly, with dignity?

“Siliva, what did you do to your sister?” Mother asked me, gently, unlike a CERTAIN sister, who thought murder would be essential before questions.

“She VANDALISED my HAIR.” Ren yelled, turning back to me, getting into a pouncing position.

“Ren.” Mother looked at her, and that was enough. Mother never spoke more than she needed to, her eyes alone held so much authority, so much power, as though she had the world wrapped around her finger. We all knew when to shut up.

“I vandalised it? That is a masterpiece! If I do say so myself” I glanced at her, smugly smiling to myself.

I vandalised it? Seriously? She dyes her hair all the time, just because I did it without asking, doesn’t make it any different!

Well I suppose it could have been the colour.

Neon green.

“This is no reason to fight! Siliva, stop pulling such childish pranks, and Ren, don’t murder her! You both need to mature, you’re both royalty and need to act like it!”

Mother was very angry, just looking at her, or hearing her tone of voice, you could tell. Dark eyes, painted black with anger, the strict, determined voice, usually gentle and calm, and the way her fingers were curled into a fist. As far as she was concerned, we were both the cause of this.

I suppose I understand.

But there was one thing I didn’t understand.

Ren was usually so calm, so nice, so kind, and used to just laugh at any of my pranks. A few months ago, if I had done the exact same prank, she would have laughed, ruffled my hair and be happy she had an excuse to dye it again.

What had changed?

Ever since that night where they left me here, and they went outside of the palace, mother and Ren.

They had both been acting strangely.

Mother was acting much colder, something I was definitely not used to. Ren was just getting bloodthirsty at the slightest mistake anyone made. The servants were terrified of her and mother. What had gotten into them?
