Aron was asleep for a lot longer than he would have thought he would. He was very comfortable with the bean bag and his body seemed like it needed sleep. After a few moments, his mother ended up walking in and rushing over to him. She had been worried about him for the past few hours and didn't even think about checking up here. But she was glad that he was home. She placed her hands onto him and gently shook him awake.
"Aron, are you alright dear?" She said in a gentle tone as she shook him awake. Aron awoke and looked at her sleepily and frowning at her a bit.
"Mom? What time is it?" He asked in a groggy voice and sitting up a bit and let out a small sigh.
"It's 5:36 p.m, what time did you come home?" She asked but then after a few moments, before Aron could answer she spoke again. "It doesn't matter, it matters that you are home. I was so worried about you." She then stood up and smoothed out the slightest wrinkles in her clothes. Aron almost rolled his eyes at it but didn't.
"Well, I have a surprise for you if you are wanting it. When you wake up some more come down and eat with us." When she said 'us', he frowned even more and nodded his head as well. He didn't like his stepfather still and hated it when his mother said 'us' or 'we'. Aron sighed and layed back onto his bean bag and closed his eyes.
"Give me about five minutes." He told her with his eyes closed so he didn't have to see the way she would react to that. He knew he was getting a doubtful look. But instead of nagging at him for what he said, she just said alright and heard her walking to the door.
"You better be down in five minutes mister, I mean it." She told him before closing the door and heading back to the kitchen leaving Aron to himself. Aron let out another sigh but this one was a bit more irritated sounding than his first one. He wished that he could just be left alone for the night, it had been a long day. But in the end, he was wishing for no reason because he was not going to be left alone. His mother was very nosy sometimes and it didn't help that his stepfather liked to be an asshole when he was home. Aron got up from the bean bag slowly and groaned a bit. His feet and back felt a bit sore when he stood. His eyes closed slightly as he ended up stretching a little bit more. After a few seconds of stretching, he straightened up his clothes and walked over to the tall mirror and fixed his hair too.
Aron then walked over and opened his bedroom door and headed out of it to walk down the steps. Once he made his way down the stairs he moved himself to the kitchen and dining room. He wanted to go back to sleep in a way but his stomach also started growling. He should eat first before he went to sleep again. Aron rubbed his eyes as he made it to the dining room and walked over to the table and sat down. He was greeted by his step dads smiling face, which made Aron roll his eyes a bit. He looked away and then watched his mother come in with a box. It was small and she handed it to Aron.
"Open this first..." His mother said gently. That's exactly what he did too. He removed the top and looked inside. There was a velvety type collar with a heart dog tag, it was pink. Aron tilted his head to the side a bit and reached in and grabbed the collar. He pulled it out and set the box aside.
"Uh, thanks?" He said a bit confused because he didn't know what the collar was for but then his mother, who he didn't know disappeared, came up to him and set a small puppy onto the table in front of him. Immediately his eyes lit up and a smile formed on his face.
"A... A puppy!? You guys bought me puppy?" He said a bit excitedly. He picked the puppy up and held it close. He assumed it was a girl because of the collar.
"She is yours Aron, we thought that it would be a good gift for you and we both think you are responsible enough to have her." His mother said and gave him a smile.
"Thanks mom." He said not even wanting to that his step loser. Aron placed the collar on the puppy and then set her in his lap.
"What are you gonna name her?" His step father asked. Even though he didn't want to answer him he looked up and shrugged.
"Rosie, or flower." He replied with a small smile and looked down at the puppy once again. He ran a finger softly on her back and her head she was really fluffy and had really curly hair. He liked it and thought it made her extra cute.Soon dinner was served and Aron kept one hand occupied with petting his puppy which he decided to call her Flower, so he other was shoveling food into his mouth every now and then.
