The night was starting to feel long for the poor Salieri. Long noble parties weren't his things, he was more of an introvert kind of man, writing or playing music on his own piano in his own house, some candle lightning the room and a glass of good wine to sip... Wine... thinking about that, the Maestro thought about having a glass of any alcohol he could grab, maybe would it shorten the night (or at least he would forget were he is and would go home like a lost child). He came out of the corner where he was standing and started to look for a way to forget that he was here.
By moving in the room, Salieri reminded of something: Mozart was the one who was playing on the piano at this party. By passing nearer him, he couldn't even see an hair of the younger musician because of the crowd being so intense around him, praising and complimenting him. "They were not wrong after all", thought the italian composer," Mozart is really talented". He then stopped for a bit to listening to the music. However, the crowd around Mozart was interfering between the piano and Salieri. He hesitate for a while of getting nearer the piano which was in the middle of the room, maybe pushing some people, after all a lot of people respected him and would get away from him to let him pass but what would he do while being in front of the younger musician? Mozart would surely look at him with his big smile has always, waving his hand and loudly saying "Oh hi Maestro! Nice to see you!", which would bring all the attention on the italian composer, something that he completely despise during those parties.
After processing every good or bad points of this idea, he decided that going to see Mozart wasn't worth it. So he then decided to continue his quest on finding something to drink. However, his quest was stopped by Rosenberg who brought him in a conversation about how Salieri's opera and composition were so much better than Mozart's one, particularly because Salieri's opera were still in italian. Salieri didn't wanted to get too involved in this conversation and stayed pretty quiet while Rosenberg was talking without an end.
Fortunately, a waiter who were passing by them finally enable to Salieri to grab a glass of champagne he drank in less than 30 seconds. However, one glass of champagne was not enough for him to forget the boring speech of Rosenberg wich by the time had turn about another topic. Salieri didn't payed attention at all about what the group of mens were talking about, and he just grabbed any alcohol waiters would bring on a plate near by him.
After some time and several glass of champagne and wine, maestro Salieri was feeling a bit euphoric and carefree. He turned away from the group of men who didn't really payed attention about the italian anyway. A little lost, Salieri didn't knew where to go until he heard a laugh, a beautiful laugh, coming from the middle of the crowd in the room. Intrigued by this laugh, Antonio managed to push a lot of people out of his way to finally see the source of this laugh: it was Mozart.
Maybe it was because of the alcohol, but at this moment, Salieri would have swear Mozart was glowing. Two women were sit next to him were chuckling at anything Wolfgang would say. By seeing this, Salieri's cheeks became red (even though they were already red because of the wine), red by seeing Mozart being so beautiful, but also because of jealousy. He became even more hotter when Mozart looked up at him in the eyes, with his usual smile.
"Oh Maestro Salieri! How are you? do you want to play?"
Has a response, Salieri took the young girl sit next to Mozart by the shoulders and threw her on the ground, which chocked a lot of people but made Mozart laugh once more. However, the laugh stopped directly when he felt Salieri's lips on his. The kiss must have last 10 seconds, but it felt like an eternity in the room. Nobody talked during that time and finally, Salieri stopped his kiss and looked at Mozart with his big black eyes: he was looking a bit like a child who knew he had made something wrong. Wolfgang took his hand and helped Antonio to get up.
"Excuse Anto... Maestro Salieri, he is a bit drunk, i'll bring him home."
Mozart took Salieri out of the party and lifted him all the way to his apartment in Vienna.
During the way, Wolfgang tried to talked to him for a bit.
"Antonio, how many glass have you drunk tonight...?
-Mmh... I don't know... maybe... 10? hehehe...
-Why?
-I was bored... Told Salieri between two hiccups
-Then why did you came?
-... Cause you were here..."
After this answer, Mozart didn't asked anything, not sure if Salieri would remind of this conversation, they finally arrived in Salieri apartment were Mozart let him fall on the couch, Salieri was pretty heavy when he was sleeping! As he was going to get out of the house, Wolfgang came near the poor Antonio who was in a weird position to sleep and kissed his forehead and finally wished him a good night.
