Beca Mitchell was so sick and tired of being rejected over and over again by multiple music companies. Ever since she was a young teenager, Beca loved listening to music and making music. She began making mashups then she began making her own songs. She was extremely talented and Beca knew she was different. Beca knew she had something to give the world. She BELIEVED that her work was good and that she had what everyone wanted - something new, original, and special. Beca wanted to be a music producer ever since she was young and Beca was always told to never give up hope but now, it seemed that all of Beca's hope had depleted. Continuously the brunette was rejected, saying that she needed to "try harder" or that her music "wasn't what people were looking for" or sometimes, she wouldn't get any feedback at all.

Nonetheless, being rejected was terrible and Beca hadn't given up but she needed a break. The brunette was heartbroken and so she needed to take her mind off of things, which is why she decided to go to the Bahamas with her parents. It had been years since Beca had taken a vacation and her dad and step-mother decided to take Beca with them for their vacation. Even though Beca's dad didn't think that making music was a "professional" career, he still supported his daughter. He knew how much music meant to Beca and he knew what it felt like to get rejected so he wanted to do something nice for Beca to help take her mind off everything and start again with a clean slate when she returned home in two weeks time.

The Bahamas was a beautiful place. The ocean was crystal blue, the sand was golden, and the temperature was perfect. It was a very calming and relaxing environment and Beca's parents were having the time of their lives. They often went off to do their own thing for the majority of the time since they knew Beca didn't want to follow them around for two weeks. Beca enjoyed the resort and enjoyed having spa treatments and so on. It wasn't something Beca was particularly interested in but going with her parents seemed to be the perfect tonic for Beca's disheartened mindset.

Perching herself at the bar, Beca ordered a drink, a whiskey to be precise. Beca always liked her whiskey. She wasn't a big drinker since she didn't like turning to alcohol for her problems but today she felt like a nip of whiskey so that's what she did. She was on vacation after all.

"Rough day or something?" Beca turned to her right and saw a beautiful woman with curly red hair and electric blue eyes staring at her.

Beca could have sworn she had seen her before but she didn't think so since she wouldn't have forgotten such a pretty face. Beca instantly felt intimidated but she swallowed her drink to answer the woman.

"Ah, no," Beca shook her head. "No, I just like to have a whiskey at the end of the day sometimes that's all."

"Oh, okay. Fair enough. Is it nice?"

"Try for yourself." Beca handed over her drink, which the woman had a sip.

"Oh, wow. It's strong isn't it?"

"You've never had whiskey before?"

"No, I don't drink too much actually. I like wine."

"I don't drink much either but I like my spirits."

"Fair enough. I can see why you'd want one of those at the end of the day but I'd still like to know what a pretty woman such as yourself is doing sitting here at a bar in the Bahamas drinking alone."

Beca never got flustered but she did at that moment. There was something about the woman's eyes and welcoming attitude that made Beca let her guard down. Not a lot but just a little.

"I could say the same thing," Beca smirked.

"I'm not alone anymore and I came over here seeing that you were alone."
