Take Me or Leave Me

Deric has quite the past. There was no doubt about it. The rocker had an urge and he always got what he wanted. However when it came to true love, he was a loyal lover. His previous acts never got in the way, in fact he used them to satisfy. He's truly treated his lovers as a blessing onto his life. If that is true though is debatable.
When it came to Carson, he always had an appearance of the boy next door. The best friend you fall in with when it's too late. The reality of it is though regardless of his own loyalty, his fatal flaw was the urge to hold the spotlight.
Often this resulted in impulsive decisions but the one thing that frankly killed Deric was the flirting. No. It wasn't that Carson flirted too much with him, the opposite. Carson was a god awful flirt seriously but when he didn't mean it he had a talent for it.
Now as far as he thought of it, it didn't matter really. As long as he came back to Deric by the end of the night. He'd never go further than sweet talk and light touches. That's fine, right?
Not to Deric. While he'd be standing around with friends, Carson would be talking to some girls over at the counter. They'd giggle as he joked about nonsense. He never meant what he said but he still managed to drive Deric out of his mind. Carson could trace the hand of some unknown girl and tell her she's beauty but in the bedroom he was a stuttering mess. Of course, it was cute sometimes to see how helpless he acts. He was weak to him but it just didn't feel fair he didn't get the same confidence.
They'd kiss and Carson would melt into it. He was in love, Deric knew it but sometimes it was difficult to tell. Was this actually love? To go out and watch him whisper sweet nothings to someone else? How did he know Carson actually loved him.
With that said tonight was the straw that broke the camel's back. He's rarely rough with Carson. For the first few months he held back as much as he could not to hurt him. Carson to him as delicate as a rose. With skin of porcelain and hair as soft as feathers. It was slightly true that Carson was sensitive but he wanted more from Deric. But it upset Carson that he felt like he wasn't satisfying Deric to his full potential and quite frankly he hated feeling like he was being treated like a princess in the bedroom. Finally things had begun to roughen up. Proof was the marks on his skin.
Anyways as said earlier, Deric was rarely rough with Carson but tonight, right now, at this one instance, Deric grabbed onto his arm and pulled him from his chair. "We're leaving." That was all he said before trying to pull Carson.
For Carson to suddenly be taken away and so harshly was shocking but he noticed the distress in Deric's face. "No-" Deric paused as Carson resisted. "What's the sitch?" He asked cluelessly. He honestly didn't know why Deric reacted in such a way.
Deric said nothing. He just continued to lightly tug him. If they were gonna talk about it, it'd be in the car.
Carson was trying to stay back but instead he found himself following. "Dude, seriously."
Deric looked back at him. "Do you really not know?" Looking back at him was a clueless Carson. He was completely and utterly hopeless sometimes. "We're going home."
Carson continued to blink. "Why? The night just started? Don't be a sourpuss, man. C'mon." He smiled tugging back to no result. Carson wasn't very strong. "Babe—"
"Cut the crap."
Carson tilted his head. Finally he pulled himself out of his grip. "Excuse me?" He wasn't quite used to being talked to like this. Maybe from Chelsea but not from Deric. He always thought of Deric as better than that. He furrowed his eyebrows as he stood back. "What did I do?"
Deric rolled his eyes. "Who are you planning to do?"
Those words took him further aback. "Well you but after this I think no one."
"Really? Because you seemed pretty interesting in those girls over there?" So that's what he was upset about. It made Carson snicker. Right, Deric was the jealous type. Which just so happened to be his type. He tried to place his hand on Deric's shoulder but Deric pulled away. Carson brushes off the action.
"You know I love you."
"These days it's getting hard to be sure." Those words made Carson's smile falter. It's getting harder? Not once has Carson begun to love him any less.
"Don't think like that. Maybe... we can go back and I show you how much I love you?" Suddenly his voice wavered uncertainly as if he just said something he shouldn't have. He bit his lip waiting for a response. Normally something like this work just fine. Deric would give in and out of frustration it'd be a great night. However not today. He's had enough. "Please?"
He scoffed. "Do you think that's how this relationship works? You know how I feel and you still go around talking your pretty little mouth off. At the end of the night you give me a half assed apology and I'll take you back?"
He didn't quite understand. Yes. That's how he understood things worked. Was there something wrong in that? He always came back to Deric. "What's wrong with that? I picked you, didn't I? I want you."
Deric's eyes widened. Who picked who? Carson spoke of himself as if Deric just won a competition. "Like I had competition?" He raised a brow and crossed his arms.
Carson blushed, he hated seeming self centred. Of course, he was but he didn't want to look it. "Yeah? Doesn't matter. I could've gone out with anybody else but I chose you. You're my boyfriend, no one else."
"You're kidding. I didn't have to have you. You're- you're just like her." He took a step back. Carson gave him a look of betrayal. Just like... her? As far as he was concerned all he's done is try to help Deric. He tried to look after him the best he could. He truly loved Deric. To be compared to such a girl...it hurt.
Just like her, well he wasn't the only one. "And you're just like—" he couldn't finish that statement. It often hurt to say her name these days. "You're jealous and you're being a prick about it. I said I love you. Don't fucking lose it because I was talking to other girls. I always come back to you."
"Bullshit. It's probably because I drive you here."
"I can't believe you. I said I love you. Stop thinking otherwise. I'm yours and only yours but I like attention. It's not biggie."
"Don't I give you enough attention? What do I have to do so you're fucking satisfied?" He stepped forward again. He got up in Carson's face. While as intimidating this was, it was kinda... Carson's face blushed red. "Do you need me to tie you to my side?"
Well if he was offering— no. He's supposed to be mad. Shit. However the idea was very attractive to him. Maybe another day. "You of all people know how fun this is. Why do you give a damn all of the sudden? You used to get laid every other night."
"Keyword: used. I recognize a relationship. I said I love you and only you but I hate this shit you do."
"Have fun? You hate me having fun? Fuck. Why tie me up? Lock me up. I'll never talk with anyone ever again. I'll just be yours then, wouldn't I?" Well if he is suggesting the idea- ugh. Not right now. Keep it in your pants. "Just give me my stage. I know you like the limelight too. Have fun yourself. Just join me at the end. I'll give you everything."
Everything? "What is everything to you?"
"My body," like he didn't already have it "my heart," questionable "and... if you'd let me my future." How romantic. He didn't buy it for a second.
"Is that it?"
Carson looked around. Is that it? What else did he have? "What."
"I want your loyalty."
"You have it, already."
"Then why don't you stop flirting with other people. If I'm the only one, why try others."
"I'm not serious about them. I've never been. You're not just anybody. Please let's just go home. Let's not waste our time." He attempted to place his fingers through Deric's pant loops to pull him for a kiss. Deric naturally gave him in but he pulled away.
"Stop. You can't keep doing this."
"Why not? We could do this forever if you just let it. Just take me for who I am and you'll enjoy me more."
Who he is. "Who you are is a tease."
There it is. "Using the t-word huh? I promise I'll never tease you. I'll do what I promised." How cute Carson was trying to flirt out of the problem. See Deric knew this was bullshit. The first sign is Carson's confidence. However he'd be lying if he said the argument wasn't going to be great for both of them later on. It'd be an interesting night for sure. He knew it and Carson knew it. Maybe that's why they're milking it. But for now he was tired of fighting. He knew it'd come up again but tonight he wanted it to be over. He felt if it continued something dramatic could happen. Something neither of them would want.
"Is that a promise?" Carson nodded vigorously and pulled him in one more time. Fine. It's fine. Next time. Today he doesn't think they'll make it home so the car will do. Even if it's stuffy.
